Abstract

La présente invention concerne un appareil d'orientation de carotte et de centrage (10) comprenant un système d'orientation de carotte (12) muni d'un système de centrage (14). Le système de centrage (14) est constitué de deux outils de centrage (14ad) et (14au) disposés chacun sur un des deux côtés du système d'orientation de carotte (12). Chaque outil (14a) est capable d'auto-centrage axial à l'intérieur d'une conduite, pour ainsi centrer le système d'orientation de carotte (12). Chaque outil de centrage (14a) est pourvu de liaisons (34) sollicitées de manière à s'étendre radialement vers l'extérieur pour venir au contact d'une surface intérieure d'une conduite. Un système de verrouillage (30) se trouvant dans chaque outil (14a) permet de verrouiller sélectivement les liaisons (34) en position rétractée et libère les liaisons destinées à être sollicitées par un ressort (56) jusqu'à la position étendue.
