Abstract
L'invention porte sur un faisceau de fibres de carbone destiné à être utilisé dans la production d'une résine renforcée par des fibres, présentant des caractéristiques mécaniques élevées. De façon spécifique, l'invention porte sur un faisceau de fibres de carbone, qui est une fibre de carbone composée de fibres individuelles de carbone et qui présente une résistance de brin de 5 900 MPa ou plus, un module d'élasticité de brin de 250 à 380 GPa tel que déterminé par la méthode ASTM, et une ténacité au nud de 900 N/mm2 ou plus. Chaque fibre individuelle de carbone n'a aucune structure irrégulière de surface qui s'étende sur la surface de la fibre individuelle dans la direction de sa longueur et qui ait une longueur de 0,6 µm ou plus, mais a une structure irrégulière, dans laquelle la différence de hauteur (Rp-v) entre le point le plus élevé (crête) et le point le plus bas (vallée) de la surface de la fibre individuelle est de 5 à 25 nm, la rugosité moyenne (Ra) étant de 2 à 6 nm. La section transversale de la fibre individuelle a un rapport longueur/largeur de 1,00 à 1,01, et la masse de la fibre individuelle par unité de longueur est de 0,030 à 0,420 mg/m.
