Abstract

Cette invention concerne un procédé de production d'un câble électrique comprenant au moins une âme conductrice et au moins une couche d'isolation électrique thermoplastique. Ledit procédé comprend les étapes consistant à : imprégner un matériau thermoplastique subdivisé à l'état solide, dont l'enthalpie de fusion est inférieure ou égale à 70 J/g, d'un fluide diélectrique pour obtenir un matériau thermoplastique imprégné ; acheminer ledit matériau thermoplastique imprégné subdivisé à l'état solide vers une extrudeuse à vis simple ; et extruder le matériau thermoplastique imprégné sur ladite/lesdites âme(s) conductrice(s) de manière à former ladite couche d'isolation électrique thermoplastique. Ledit matériau thermoplastique imprégné n'est soumis à aucune étape d'homogénéisation mécanique à l'état fondu. Le procédé selon l'invention permet d'obtenir des câbles électriques présentant une grande proportion de fluide diélectrique dans la couche d'isolation électrique, c'est-à-dire une proportion supérieure à 10% en poids, sans présenter de défauts morphologiques dans la couche elle-même ou les désavantages du procédé d'extrusion, même quand la vitesse de rotation de la vis d'extrusion et partant la vitesse de production du câble sont élevées (c'est-à-dire une vitesse supérieure à 20 m/minute pour un câble de moyenne tension).
