Abstract

Linvention présente un traitement sur place dun réservoir dhydrocarbure qui comprend la sélection dans le réservoir dune chambre de vapeur mature et dune chambre de vapeur fonctionnelle généralement adjacente à la chambre de vapeur mature avec laquelle la chambre de vapeur fonctionnelle est en communication. La chambre de vapeur fonctionnelle entreprend ou peut entreprendre un traitement SAGD. Un gaz non oxydant est injecté dans la chambre de vapeur mature afin de former une zone tampon non oxydante entre les chambres de vapeur mature et fonctionnelle. Un gaz renfermant de loxygène est également injecté dans la chambre mature en vue de maintenir la pression à lintérieur de la chambre mature de sorte à réduire ou éviter la fuite ou l'écoulement croisé du liquide, de la chambre fonctionnelle vers la chambre mature, tout en maintenant le traitement SAGD dans la chambre fonctionnelle.
