Abstract

L'invention concerne une puce pour une cartouche avec un matériau distribuable. Selon un aspect, la puce peut comprendre une mémoire non volatile permettant de stocker un nombre représentant la quantité de matériau distribuable dans la cartouche, un stockage de clé permettant de stocker une clé de cryptage, un module de vérification de signature et des composants de circuit configurés pour recevoir et traiter une tâche d'impression, recevoir et valider un message comprenant une commande pour augmenter la quantité de matériau distribuable, et mettre à jour la quantité de matériau distribuable si la validation du deuxième message utilisant le module de vérification de signature et la clé de cryptage est réussie. Selon un autre aspect, la puce peut comprendre un circuit avec un état pouvant être changé de façon permanente et irréversible et des composants de circuit configurés pour ignorer une commande d'augmentation d'un nombre représentant la quantité de matériau distribuable si le circuit a changé son état de façon permanente et irréversible pour empêcher la réponse aux demandes d'augmentation du nombre.
