Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé et un appareil de garniture d'étanchéité. La garniture d'étanchéité comprend un mandrin contenant une structure de préhension, un premier manchon reçu autour du mandrin et un second manchon reçu autour du mandrin et accouplé au premier manchon. La garniture d'étanchéité contient également une bague de serrage reçue autour du mandrin et axialement entre au moins une portion du premier manchon et au moins une première portion du second manchon. La bague de serrage contient une première surface conique et au moins une structure de préhension conçue pour venir en prise avec la structure de préhension du mandrin. Le premier manchon vient en prise avec la première surface conique, de sorte que, lorsque les premier et second manchons sont déplacés axialement ensemble, le premier manchon applique une force dirigée radialement vers l'intérieur sur la bague de serrage.
