Abstract

La présente invention porte généralement sur un procédé de préparation dun substrat à chaîne principale en C5, le procédé comprenant la mise en réaction dun pentose avec de loxygène en présence dun catalyseur doxydation hétérogène comprenant un métal sélectionné parmi le groupe comprenant du Pd, Pt et des combinaisons de ceux-ci afin de convertir au moins une portion du pentose en substrat à chaîne principale en C5, où le pH du mélange de réaction nest pas supérieur à 7 et le substrat à chaîne principale en C5 est un composé de formule I ou une lactone de celui-ci : (voir la formule I) où X est indépendamment un groupe hydroxyle, oxo, halo, acyloxy ou hydrogène pour autant quau moins un X nest pas un hydrogène et R1 est indépendamment un ion formant un sel, un hydrogène, un hydrocarbyl ou un hydrocarbyl substitué.
