Abstract

La présente invention concerne un ensemble d'anode de cellule d'électrolyse qui comporte une anode, une embase et une cosse. L'embase est insérée dans un trou d'embase de l'anode. La cosse est formée entre l'embase et l'anode dans le trou d'embase. Une paroi latérale de l'embase a une discontinuité, qui peut être un évidement, une protubérance ou une combinaison de ceux-ci. Une surface interne de la cosse vient en prise avec la discontinuité de l'embase. La mise en prise restreint le mouvement axial de la cosse par rapport à l'embase. Sous expansion thermique de l'anode de l'assemblage, la base de l'embase est poussé vers la tubulure de fond de trou et stub-à-anode résistance est améliorée. Ceci améliore en outre l'efficacité d'un processus d'électrolyse d'aluminium.
