Abstract

La présente invention concerne un ensemble réflecteur dynamique de neutrons destiné à un réacteur rapide « à onde progressive » qui ajuste progressivement le spectre de neutrons et la réactivité dans un cur de réacteur. La composition des matériaux dans le réflecteur dynamique de neutrons peut être ajustée pour changer les niveaux de réflectivité des neutrons, ou pour introduire des caractéristiques de modération ou d'absorption de neutrons. Le réflecteur de neutrons dynamique peut contenir un liquide de réflexion en circulation dont le volume et/ou la densité peuvent être ajustés. Des éléments submersibles peuvent être insérés sélectivement dans le liquide de réflexion en circulation pour modifier son volume et introduire d'autres effets de modification des neutrons tels que la modération ou l'absorption. L'insertion sélective des éléments submersibles permet la concentration des effets de modification des neutrons dans une partie sélectionnée du cur du réacteur. Le liquide de réflexion en circulation peut également agir comme un circuit de refroidissement secondaire en échangeant de la chaleur avec le sel de combustible fondu.
