La présente invention concerne le domaine de la (bio)médecine et plus particulièrement le traitement de maladies liées au cuivre. L'invention concerne de nouveaux moyens et procédés pour réduire le cuivre (en excès) dans des organes et/ou la circulation. Elle concerne des agents présentant une forte affinité de liaison au cuivre et des formes stabilisées de ceux-ci, ainsi qu'un nouveau régime de traitement. Les moyens et les procédés de la présente invention sont particulièrement utiles pour le traitement de la maladie de Wilson, mais également pour le traitement d'autres pathologies.
