Abstract

Système et procédés associés permettant d'éviter les erreurs de site opératoire et les blessures causées par des lames au personnel de salle d'opération, qui comprend un système logiciel informatique (pour utilisation sur des ordinateurs ou dispositifs de poche dans l'environnement médical) en association avec un support de fournitures chirurgicales (tel qu'un distributeur de lames de sûreté ou autre distributeur d'objets tranchants chirurgicaux). Le support de fournitures chirurgicales comprend au moins un élément, tel qu'une étiquette, qui évite ou empêche qu'un chirurgien accède à un ou plusieurs instruments chirurgicaux rangés à l'intérieur jusqu'à ce qu'un temps de pause préopératoire ("time out") soit réalisé par le chirurgien ou le personnel de salle d'opération autorisé pour confirmer divers détails parmi lesquels figurent, mais sans s'y limiter, le bon patient, la bonne procédure, le bon équipement, etc., avant de commencer la procédure chirurgicale prévue. Des données peuvent être capturées dans tout l'environnement médical (à partir de la "décision d'inciser" et au-delà) afin d'évaluer des données d'erreurs de site opératoire (y compris des données d'accidents évités de justesse) et de permettre une multitude d'analyses sur la prévention des erreurs de site opératoire.
