Abstract

La présente invention concerne un procédé pour produire du méthanol, ledit procédé consistant à mettre en contact du H2 et du CO2 avec un catalyseur solide, à une température de 200 °C à 300 °C et à une pression de réaction de 150 à 500 bar, ladite pression de réaction étant la somme des pressions partielles de H2 et de CO2, où : le rapport molaire de H2 sur CO2 étant de x : 1,0, où x est compris entre 2,5 et 3,5 ; et le catalyseur comprend : (i) un composant de cuivre qui est Cu, CuO ou CU2O, ou un mélange de deux ou trois de ceux-ci, et (ii) ZnO, où ce catalyseur présente une surface spécifique de cuivre d'au moins 10 m2/g de catalyseur.
