Abstract

Un procédé et un dispositif de production de fumée selon la présente invention produisent une réaction de production de fumée basée sur une polymérisation organique non incendiaire. Certaines versions de la fumée sont des véhicules efficaces pour des composés capsaïcinoïdes. Le procédé de génération de fumée comprend l'initiation d'une réaction de polymérisation frontale par chauffage d'une composition comprenant un composé monomère qui se polymérise de façon exothermique lors de l'initiation avec un composé initiateur et un composé initiateur qui initie la polymérisation du composé monomère. La polymérisation du composé monomère est exothermique et, dans un mode de réalisation, la concentration de composé initiateur est au moins cinq pour cent de la concentration de composé monomère. La fumée comprend principalement des produits de décomposition thermique du composé initiateur.
