La clé peut être montée sur un assemblage de forage. La clé comprend : un assemblage de mâchoire avec des mâchoires opposées pour lengagement du composant de tige de forage entre ces dernières; un premier actionneur pour lactionnement de la paire de mâchoires opposées entre une position engagée et une position désengagée; un deuxième actionneur configuré pour pivoter lassemblage de mâchoire et pour appliquer un couple lors de lengagement avec le composant de tige de forage; un troisième actionneur configuré pour étendre et rentrer lassemblage de mâchoire dans un premier plan essentiellement perpendiculaire à laxe longitudinal de lassemblage de forage lorsque la clé est montée sur ce dernier; et un quatrième actionneur pour lactionnement de la clé dans un deuxième plan essentiellement perpendiculaire au premier plan.
