Abstract

Il est décrit un procédé de réduction de la pression de vapeur de pétrole brut traité, une telle réduction de pression de vapeur étant suffisante pour permettre un transport sûr du pétrole. Après un traitement haute pression pour le dégagement gazeux et la séparation à basse pression de l'eau qui s'ensuit, du pétrole brut traité peut encore posséder une pression de vapeur suffisante pour créer des conditions dangereuses lors du transport du pétrole. La présente invention fait état du fait qu'aussi peu que 10 ppb de certains polymères de siloxane appliqués à ces pétroles bruts traités permettent d'obtenir du pétrole traité ayant une pression de vapeur réduite. La réduction de pression de vapeur est généralement d'environ 1 psi à 10 psi après l'application des polymères de siloxane décrits.
