Abstract

La présente invention concerne une ou plusieurs rangées de refroidisseurs fixes en cuivre disposés sur des tablettes horizontales en porte-à-faux à l'intérieur d'un four et fixés à un support annulaire externe en acier ainsi qu'à une coque de confinement en acier. Ces tablettes redirigent et supportent tout le poids des briques réfractaires et des blocs de refroidissement flottants qui sont empilés dessus. Chaque refroidisseur fixe en cuivre installé dans les tablettes en porte-à-faux est ajusté épaule contre épaule sur la brique réfractaire et les blocs de refroidissement flottants potentiellement empilés en dessous, ce qui permet de soulager la partie inférieure du mur du poids de la partie supérieure du mur. En soulageant cette contrainte, les risques de défaillance catastrophique et soudaine d'un mur inférieur sont réduits. Les briques dans les murs inférieurs peuvent ainsi être utilisées en toute sécurité sur une période bien plus longue qu'avec une conception traditionnelle sans tablettes en porte-à-faux.
