Abstract

La présente description concerne une méthode de production dhydroxyde de lithium et dun sous-produit contenant un mélange de composés dhydroxyde de calcium et de silicate de calcium à partir de minerais de silicate daluminium de lithium concentrés. La méthode décrite dans la présente consiste généralement à mélanger le minerai et le réactif de calcium et, ensuite, à effectuer des traitements thermiques. La masse solide est refroidie et hydratée par vapeur deau pour convertir des oxydes libres en hydroxydes. Le mélange de vapeur deau solide est séparé, et le solide récupéré est lessivé avec de leau chaude à des sels solubles dissolvants. Le solide résiduel est enlevé du liquide chargé et il est le sous-produit. La solution de sels est partiellement évaporée, et de lhydroxyde de calcium est récupéré. La solution est évaporée, en partie, à des cristaux récupérés de monohydrate dhydroxyde de lithium.
