Les fig. 1 et 2 sont deux coupes verticales axiales de la -première forme d'exécution, selon les lignes À-B, respectivement C-D de la fig. 3 ; La fig. 3 est une vue en plan .de l'appa reil ; La fig. 4 en est une .coupé partielle- selon la ligne T-F de la fig. 3 La fig. 5 est une coupe verticale axiale de la seconde forme d'exécution, selon. là ligne G-H de la fig. 6 ; La fig. 6 en est une vue .en plan;
Automatic device for brewing coffee. The object of the present invention is an automatic apparatus for the preparation of coffee infusion; it comprises a device for loading powdered coffee into at least one cup, and for locking the latter against a perforated housing in communication with a hot water supply duct for preparing the infusion, a hopper for the introduction of coffee powder into the cup and a discharge orifice for the coffee grounds, a rotary disc, rotating below the distributor and in which are arranged hollow cylinders provided with movable pistons having a filter at their upper part,
pistons which are controlled and which can be lowered into their respective cylinder to leave a free space for the coffee powder; the control of the movements of the pistons being effected by means of an operating lever.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, two embodiments of the object of the invention.
Figs. 1 and 2 are two axial vertical sections of the -first embodiment, along lines A-B, respectively C-D of FIG. 3; Fig. 3 is a plan view of the apparatus; Fig. 4 is a partial cut along the line T-F of FIG. 3 Fig. 5 is an axial vertical section of the second embodiment, according to. there line G-H of fig. 6; Fig. 6 is a plan view;
Fig. 7 is a view from above; a detail of this second embodiment; Fig. 8 is a plan view of a member relating to this second embodiment. The apparatus according to fig. 1 to 4, intended to be coupled to any type of known boiler machine, for preparing coffee, comprises a disc 1, having a pipe 2, connected in any suitable manner to the water supply pipe and steam for preparing coffee, a letter not shown in the drawing.
The -disc 1 has a housing 3 connected to the pipe 2, -housing in which is disposed a filter 4 mounted on a gasket 5, against which rests a lower filter holder, which will be mentioned below. In the disc 1 is also provided a mouth 6, for discharging the coffee grounds, as well as a hopper 7, intended to contain the coffee powder, which hopper is provided with a stirrer 8, which is actuated by a lever. external 9, on which acts an operating lever 10. The disc 1 has at its lower part a journal II on which is rotatably mounted another disc 12, in which are provided filter-holder cups which can pass through. turn under the slot 3.
These filter-holder cups are formed by hollow cylinders 13, which come to bear under the lining 5 seen above, and in which can move pistons 14 carrying a filter.
Each of these pistons 14 is mounted on a rod 15 provided at its lower end with a roller 16, which can: roll on a cam 17, fixed to the lower end of the journal I1. The hollow cylinders 13 as well as the rods 15 are provided with return springs.
The filter holder fixing device comprises a pad 18, screwed into the dis that 1 which has for this purpose a screw thread, pad 18 which is integral with the operating lever 10. The pad 18 has, at its upper part , a thread in which is screwed the threaded head 19 of an articulated tie rod 20, connected to a rocker 21 pivoted by one of its ends on the journal 11 and the other end of which bears against the bottom of the cylinder 13 which is located below the housing 3. This device makes it possible to obtain, by a small rotation of the bearing 18, a fairly large displacement of the end of the balance 21 bearing against the bottom of the cylinder.
Ducts 13 'are provided at the base of cylinders 13 for the flow of coffee, ducts which lead to a funnel provided at the lower part of the apparatus.
A pawl 23, mounted on the rod of the lever 10, engages, when the device is in operation, in a journal 24 fixed to the disc 1, to drive the latter. The operation of the apparatus is as follows: the apparatus having been mounted by its tubing 2 and in any suitable manner on a hot water supply duct and the hopper 7 having been filled with coffee powder, it is brought to the by means of the operating lever 10, being in position A, marked in phantom in fig. 3, one of the hollow cylinders 13 below the hopper 7, where, under the action of the agitator 8 actuated by the lever 9, said hollow cylinder fills with coffee powder which is distributed above of the filter with which the piston 14 of this cylinder is fitted, by filling the chamber 22, included.
between said filter and the top of cylinder 14.
By moving the operating lever 10, from position A. to position C, during arc A.-B, the pressure of the balance 21 is reduced. The pawl 23 mounted on the lever 10 engages with the journal 24 of the disc 12 and forces the latter to rotate with the lever to position C In this way, the hollow cylinder 13 is brought under the housing 3.
By returning the operating lever to position A, the pawl 23 is released from the swivel 24 and the bearing 18 integral with the pawl unscrews from the disc 1 and is raised; the threaded head 19 not being able to follow it in its rotation, unscrews and adds its own lifting to that of the bearing 18, acting ning the balance 21 which will force the cylinder against the gasket 5. The supply valves are then operated and prepared for the 'coffee infusion. By moving the lever and bringing it to position C, the cylinder 13 containing the coffee grounds is brought below the discharge opening 6.
During this movement of the lever, the roller 16 of the rod 15 of the piston rolls on the cam 17 and moves on the ramp of the latter while lifting, which produces the discharge of the coffee grounds, through the opening 6. By moving the lever 10 again, a cylinder 13 is brought back below the hopper and the cycle begins again. If there are four cylinders, as shown in this embodiment, there will always be one cylinder in action and each time the lever 10 is moved, an infusion of coffee will be prepared.
In the embodiment shown in FIGS. 5 to 8, the arrangement of the organs is such as to allow the preparation of one or two coffees at a time. The bodies identical to those of the first embodiment are represented by the same indices.
This second embodiment differs from the previous one by the device for blocking the cylinders 13. The apparatus has a disc 1, in which is provided a housing 3 in communication with a pipe 2. The housing 3 is provided with. a filter 4, mounted on a gasket 5. A discharge mouth 6 is provided in the disc 1- which further carries a hopper 7 and an agitator 8. Below the disc 1 is arranged a second disc 12, in which hollow cylinders 131 to 134 are mounted, provided with pistons 14 mounted on rods 15, having at their lower end a roller 16, which rolls on a cam 17.
Un.coussinet 18 screwed into the disc 1, carries a threaded head 19 of a tie rod 20, the usefulness of which will be seen below. A part 25, shown in FIG. 8, formed by four forked branches, is arranged towards the. lower part of a journal 11, part of which the forked branches partially embrace the rod 15 of the pistons 14 by pressing on the latter. The part 25 is mounted loose, with a fairly large play on the journal 11 and has a groove 26 in which enter the ends of a pivot 27, which is threaded into the tie rod 20 (which in this embodiment, n 'is not articulated and in slots 28 of the journal 11, so that it is free to move vertically and prevented from turning.
As the movement of the lever 10 continues, the cylinder 131, which is located between the hopper and the discharge opening 6, is prevented from lifting, by the disc 1, while the. cylinders 132 and 133, located one below the discharge opening and the other below the hopper, are free to lift, and cylinder 134 is forced against liner 5. The charge of the screw 19 will be distributed on the cylinder 131, which will serve as a fulcrum for the part 25 and the cylinder 134 which will be strongly pressed against the lining.
As shown in the drawing, the threads of the pad 18 are brought to the same level, in order to reduce the dimensions of the apparatus in height.
The tubes 29 through which the infusion of coffee flows towards the nozzle 30, must it flow to the outside, are extensible and have telescopic joints 31 for this purpose.
The device which allows the preparation of one or two coffees at a time consists of a sector 32 which is carried by the cam 17, below the hopper 7. This sector lifts the rod 15 of the one of the cylinders during its passage under the hopper, preventing the introduction of powdered coffee into said cylinder.
The sector control device 32 consists of a lever 33 wedged on a vertical shaft 34, passing through the pivot 27 and terminating in an eccentric 35, the button 36 of which engages between the flanges 37 shown on the end 38 of the sector 32. By turning the lever 33 by half a turn, the sector which is brought into the passage of the rods 15 or withdrawn therefrom is radially displaced. A spring 39 tends to hold the button 36 in its extreme positions.
