La fig. 1 représente la face interne d'un bord longitudinal de la jambière, muni de la baleine; Fig. 2 représente ce bord en profil; Fig. 3 représente la face externe de l'autre bord longitudinal de la jambière muni du pont formant gâche; Fig. 4 représente, en coupe longitudinale par l'axe de la lame, les deux bords super posés de la jambière dans la partie inférieure qui doit être assujettie, montrant l'enclancbe- ment de l'extrémité de la baleine après son passage sous le pont;
Device for connecting the side edges to each other, at their lower part. of leggings. This invention relates to a device for connecting to each other, at their lower part, the lateral edges of a leg piece provided with a metal blade or whalebone seated against one of the faces of one. of the longitudinal edges of the cuff, in order to force the juxtaposed lower edges of the cuff to remain invariably opposite each other during use regardless of the inflections taken by the leg.
In this device, the lower end of the whale is free and angled, and pierced with a hole, while, on the other hand, the other edge of the leggings is provided, facing said free end, with 'a bridge having a boss which protrudes under the bridge and is lodged in the hole drilled in the end of the blade, when said end is engaged in the keeper formed by the bridge.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of this device.
Fig. 1 shows the internal face of a longitudinal edge of the leg, provided with the rib; Fig. 2 shows this edge in profile; Fig. 3 shows the outer face of the other longitudinal edge of the leg piece provided with the bridge forming a keeper; Fig. 4 shows, in longitudinal section through the axis of the blade, the two superposed edges of the leg in the lower part which must be secured, showing the engagement of the end of the rib after its passage under the bridge ;
Fig. 5 is a perspective view of the bridge before it is fixed to the edge of the leg. In the device shown, the blade or rib B is narrowed in the vicinity of its outer end, in this part, that is to say in the longitudinal axis of the bay, a hole i is made; the blade is curved on each side of this hole in j, then raised slightly outwards in k. The blade is thus bent in such a way that the portion where the hole i is made tends to bear elastically against the edge of the leg.
On the other hand, the other longitudinal edge of the leg is provided with a bridge D stamped so as to create a boss d projecting under the bridge on which the blade B can pivot slightly.
This bridge D is provided with two tabs G which pass through slots, one in the plate E resting on the internal face of the leather edge C of the leggings and the others in the plate I 'applied to the external face of said edge C The plate E placed on the side of the bridge D extends beyond this bridge so that the curved end k of the blade can rest on this plate so as not to rub on the leather edge C and wear it out, and also to facilitate the exit of this blade from the bridge.
As seen in fig. 4, by sliding the free end 7., of the blade B, riveted in b on the edge A in leather, the curved part blade j of the blade B slides under the bridge D until the boss d comes to stop in the hole i and immobilize the blade B. To release this blade from the bridge, it suffices to quickly pull the part upwards. of the leg provided with the blade, which forces the arched parts j adjacent to the hole i to flex when passing the boss d.
