Description

experienced in the production of an agent for derusting and cleaning iron. The process for the production of a rust removal agent forming the subject of the present invention is based on the fact that caustic and crystalline soda, the latter in slightly larger parts by weight than the former, are mixed with a potassium salt of a manganic acid and dissolved in warm yG water. The ver used in the execution of the process bodies are cheaper than those previously used for this purpose and neither attack the worker nor the objects to be treated.

Example 1: 750 grams of caustic soda and 875 grams of crystalline soda together with 10 grams of manganese-acid or super-manganese-acid potassium are dissolved in about 12 liters of water.

Smaller objects are dipped into the solution to remove rust and, after a few minutes of rinsing, they are removed and wiped off. Larger pieces are coated with the solution, i.e. H. covered with a layer of the solution and then treated further in the same way. If whole machines or machine parts are to be cleaned of dirt, oils, paints or smoke, the solution according to Example 1 also contains glycerine. The rust-dissolving effect of the mixture remains with the addition of glycerine.

Example 2: 4 kg of crystalline soda, 1/1 kg of caustic soda, 1 / s kg of glycerine and 16 grams of manganese-acid potassium are taken for 120 liters of water.

The two solutions mentioned are absolutely harmless for the operator and for the object to be cleaned, can be stored conveniently and are cheaper to produce than many of the previously known rust removal and cleaning agents.
