L'ajutage est muni d'une garniture annu laire 108 cri liège qui, lorsque l'ajutage occupe la position figurée sur la fig. 1; est ajustée entre un siège incliné 109 formé sur le sup port 78 et titre rondelle en forme de coupe 110 qui renferme la garniture;
la rondelle110 est parfaitement ajustée sur l'ajutage 83 et ce dernier est muni d'une saillie 111 pour maintenir la rondelle 110 en position sur l'ajutage et pour empêcher celui-ci d'être projeté à l'extérieur, par l'action du ressort 106, air delà de la position représentée sur la fig. 1. Quand les organes se trouvent dans la position représentée sur cette figure, la garniture 108 est fortement serrée entre la rondelle 110 et le siège 109 situé sui le support 78 et s'ajuste parfaitement sur la paroi extérieure de l'ajutage 83, de manière à former un joint étanche quand on rie se sert pas de l'appareil ;
Une rondelle creuse 121 embrasse une garniture annulaire de liège 122 et, comme la rondelle 1;l1 repose contre l'épaulement 123 disposé sur le bord inférieur de la bride 117 de l'or gane 116, la garniture se trouve comprimée de manière à former un contact étanche avec la rondelle 72 et avec l'extrémité supérieure du rivet 74;
grâce à ce dispositif, l'air ne peut normalement pénétrer dans la chambre du côté du piston 70 regardant l'ajutage et cette condition est d'autant mieux réalisée que le distributeur doit être utilisé pour en voyer du lubrifiant dans un raccord récepteur formant support, tel que celui représenté en 124. Quand le piston 70 occupe une position plus éloignée de l'extrémité de l'ajutage que celle qui est représentée sur le dessin, l'ex trémité 125 de la tige à poignée ne se pro longe pas, comme on l'a représenté sur le dessin, au delà de la bride 101 du tube 98, mais se trouve située à l'arrière de cette bride;
Quand le distributeur est chargé de lubrifiant, le piston 70 occupe une position voisine du couvercle 64 et le lubrifiant est éjecté hors du distributeur en amenant la face de contact 91 de la boîte de raccordement 84 contre l'extrémité du raccord 124; le distri buteur est tenu à la main par l'opérateur qui saisit la poignée 62, .puis appuie sur cette poignée 62 dans la direction du raccord 124 établissant ainsi un contact étanche conservé à la main, entre la face de contact 91 de la boîte de raccordement de l'ajutage et le bord du raccord;
Ce dernier entraîne, vers l'intérieur, la poignée 112 et la position de cette poignée indique à l'opérateur la quantité de lubrifiant qui reste, à l'intérieur du réservoir et qui est susceptible d'être déchargée de ce dernier. Cette action continue pendant les opérations successives du distributeur pour charger les récipients à lubrifiant tels que le raccord l'14: A chaque fois, la paroi mobile ou pis ton 70 est avancé jilsqu'à ce que l'extrémité 1?5 de la tige 114 presse suffisamment la surface 10.1 du plongeur 96 pour maintenir fermé l'orifice 93;
Cette manoeuvre peut être exécutée sans interven tion ou résistance résultant de la dépression puisque le premier mouvement de la poignée provoque un déplacement de la partie 116 pour ouvrir les orifices 118 et les mettre en communication avec l'air situé à l'arrière du piston 70;
Lubricant dispenser. The object of the present invention is a lubricant dispenser, which comprises a lubricant reservoir in which a movable partition can move on one of the faces of which the atmospheric pressure acts, as well as a lubricant discharge chamber. , intended to receive the latter in successive portions, the distributor being established in such a way that the lubricant can be expelled from said chamber under high pressure by simply pressing the distributor by hand against the body to be provided with the lubricant, and that, when this pressure ceases, a new quantity of lubricant is automatically introduced into said discharge chamber under the action of said partition,
by the effect of atmospheric pressure on the latter.
This distributor can in particular be established to be used for the lubrication of devices provided with couplings for receiving the lubricant.
The appended drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the dispenser according to the invention. Fig. 1 is a longitudinal section thereof; FIG. 2 is a section taken along line 5-5 of FIG. 1; Fig.3 is a longitudinal section showing a connection box of the distributor in contact with a connection serving as a support for it.
The cylindrical reservoir 61 is provided with a handle 62 rigidly fixed to it at 63, for example by means of an electric welding. This handle, which is preferably made from a sheet of metal, has considerable rigidity.
A cap forming a cover 64 pierced at 65 has an edge 66 folded so as to envelop a ring formed of a spring wire 67. The end of the tank 61 on which the brim of the cap 64 is to be fitted is flared towards the exterior as shown in 68; this flared part is rounded as shown, so that the metal wire forming a spring hooks the part of larger diameter of the flare 68 and, thanks to the elastic pressure of the spring, keeps the cap in contact with the edge 69 of the tank, preventing any introduction of dust into the latter.
The cork piston 70 is fitted with a Cree leather cup 71; these two members are riveted together between two metal washers 72 and 73 by a hollow rivet 74, the ends of which are flared and folded over the outer edges of the orifices of the washers.
The tube 61 is fitted to the cylindrical part 76 of the head 75; the seal, which is obtained by the process known as a press fit, is sufficiently tight to eliminate any leakage of the contents even under relatively high lubricant pressures. The part 78 which supports the nozzle is screwed onto the head 75.
The head 75 has, at its end, a flange 79 extending inwardly. An annular cork liner 80 is fixed, in a tight manner, between the end wall of the flange 79 and a seat 81 formed in the part 78; the latter is provided with a hole 82 in which fits perfectly a cylindrical nozzle 83 capable of receiving a reciprocating movement. The nozzle 83 is provided with a connection box 84 screwed at 85 on its end and having cavities.
Inside one of the cavities are housed a ball 86 and a spring 87 which presses the ball against a valve seat 88; the other cavity has the form of a contact surface having a flared portion 90 forming a guide and a contact surface proper 91, of hemispherical shape.
The nozzle 83 is provided with an orifice 93 and a part 94 whose outside diameter is reduced beyond said orifice. This part, which serves as a guide for a diver, carries a washer 95, against which a res sort 106. rests.
A cylinder 98 having a black longitudinal opening shown, for the passage of the lubricant, is screwed at 100, by its open end, into the support 78; the threaded end is disposed inside the annular cork packing 80 and the fixing flange 79 thereof. The opposite end of cylinder 98 has a flange 101, extending inwardly, in which an axial orifice 102 is formed.
One of the ends, 97, of the plunger 96 penetrates cry inside the guide 94; the other end of the plunger is provided with a part with an outer flange 103, the end face 104 of which has a diameter greater than that of the orifice 102, so that the plunger can not pass through this orifice, but come rest on a seat 105 located on the inner face of the flange 101. Between the washer 95 and the face 107 of the flange 103, is arranged the spring 106, which is normally compressed and serves to resiliently push the nozzle outward and the plunger inward against seat 105.
The nozzle is provided with an annular gasket 108 cry cork which, when the nozzle occupies the position shown in FIG. 1; is fitted between an inclined seat 109 formed on the support 78 and a cup-shaped washer 110 which encloses the lining;
the washer 110 is perfectly fitted to the nozzle 83 and the latter is provided with a projection 111 to hold the washer 110 in position on the nozzle and to prevent the latter from being thrown the outside, by the action of the spring 106, air beyond the position shown in FIG. 1. When the members are in the position shown in this figure, the gasket 108 is strongly clamped between the washer 110 and the seat 109 located on the support 78 and fits perfectly on the outer wall of the nozzle 83, so as to form a tight seal when not in use of the device;
the purpose of this tight seal is to prevent the lubricant from passing through the orifice 82) of the support 78 between said support and the nozzle 83.
A rod 113 provided with a hand button 112 extends towards the interior of the reservoir, through the orifice 65 made in the cap. The opposite end 114 of the rod is of a smaller diameter; the rod comprises an intermediate part 115 which is externally threaded and whose diameter is smaller than that of the part 113 and greater than that of the part 114.
A cylindrical part 116 has, at one of its ends, a flange 117 and lateral orifices 118 located in the vicinity of this flange; the other end of cylinder 116 is threaded to receive a nut 119. Part 116 fits inside hollow cylindrical rivet 74 of compound piston 70-71 and is adapted to move back and forth in said hollow cylindrical rivet. A compression spring # 120 of concavo-convex shape has a central opening of a diameter smaller than that of the nut 119, this arrangement having the purpose of allowing said spring to flatten against the washer 73.
The hand spring 120 normally holds the orifices 118 of the sleeve 116 closed. The force of this spring is overcome when the operator, wishing to withdraw the piston 70, pulls on the handle 112 and thus flattens the spring 120. The orifices 118 are found. then unmasked and placed in communication with the chamber of the reservoir situated at the end adjacent to the handle and the air entering through said orifices and through the passage made inside part 116 fills the partial vacuum which has arisen. formed below the piston, i.e. towards the end of the nozzle.
A hollow washer 121 embraces an annular cork gasket 122 and, as the washer 1; l1 rests against the shoulder 123 disposed on the lower edge of the flange 117 of the or gane 116, the gasket is compressed so as to form tight contact with washer 72 and with the upper end of rivet 74;
thanks to this device, the air cannot normally enter the chamber on the side of the piston 70 looking at the nozzle and this condition is all the better achieved as the distributor must be used to send lubricant from it into a receiving fitting forming a support , such as that shown at 124. When the piston 70 occupies a position farther from the end of the nozzle than that shown in the drawing, the end 125 of the handle rod does not extend, as shown in the drawing, beyond the flange 101 of the tube 98, but is located behind this flange;
in this way, the plunger 96 is brought back by its return spring 106 to the position in which its rear face 104 rests against the internal face 105 of the flange 101; at the same time, the anterior end of the plunger 96 is on the rear of the orifice 93 made in the nozzle 83, so that the passage of the nozzle 83 communicates directly with the chamber inside the distributor and on the front of the udder your 70; normally there is no communication between the two chambers situated in front and behind the piston 70., the orifices 118 being kept closed as has been shown.
When the distributor is loaded with lubricant, the piston 70 occupies a position close to the cover 64 and the lubricant is ejected from the distributor by bringing the contact face 91 of the junction box 84 against the end of the connector 124; the dispenser is held in the hand by the operator who grasps the handle 62, then presses this handle 62 in the direction of the connector 124 thus establishing a sealed contact kept by hand, between the contact face 91 of the box connecting the nozzle and the edge of the fitting;
an additional pressure will now force the nozzle 83 to move like a telescope inside the tank and on the plunger 96 which, before this operation, had its end 97 dark only in the extension for mant guide 94 of the nozzle 83. The telescope movement of the nozzle towards the interior of the reservoir causes the orifice 93 to be blocked by the piston, and the lubricant contained within the tubular nozzle 83 is expelled out. from the latter past check valve 86 through port 92, then through port in fitting 124 and thence to the bearing surfaces which are to be lubricated.
In this operation, the hand pressure provided by the operator acts to force the nozzle 83 and the plunger 96 to behave like parts of a telescope and a charge of lubricant is thus found. ejected under a high pressure prevailing inside the nozzle.
When the operator releases his pressure, the spring 106 forces the nozzle 88 to return back to its normal position; during this operation, and during the return of the nozzle, the plunger 96 is kept motionless with its rear face resting on the surface 107 of the flange 101. As soon as the nozzle 83 has advanced sufficiently to that the orifice 93 is reopened, the space occupied in the front in the nozzle by the ejected lubricant binds not contain, at this moment, lubricant and there is in this member him considerable empty which has the effect, when port 93 is opened again,
passing a fresh charge of lubricant from the reservoir into the interior of the nozzle 83. When the lubricant coming from the reservoir is thus forced to pass through an opening shown in the tube 98 then through the orifice 93 in the nozzle 83, the eyebolt 70 is moved inside the cylinder 61 towards the end. of the reservoir located on the nozzle side, under the action of pressure. atmospheric on the piston.
The latter drives, towards the inside, the handle 112 and the position of this handle indicates to the operator the quantity of lubricant which remains inside the reservoir and which is capable of being discharged from the latter. This action continues during the successive operations of the distributor to load the lubricant containers such as the connector 14: Each time, the movable wall or pis ton 70 is advanced until the end 1? 5 of the rod 114 sufficiently presses the surface 10.1 of the plunger 96 to keep the orifice 93 closed;
at this point, no new amount of lubricant binds more into the nozzle 83 and, if the operator then attempts to actuate the distributor, he finds that the nozzle 83 performs very easily and with much less resistance than before. before is telescope movement, which indicates to the operator that the reservoir needs to be recharged with lubricant.
By causing the orifice to close when the lubricant has been discharged in a predetermined quantity, the air is prevented from being entrained in the nozzle 83 by the vacuum which occurs inside the nozzle. this member after discharge of the lubricant from the nozzle and when the reserve of lubricant intended to fill the nozzle is insufficient.
The distributor shown prevents even from entering the nozzle when the lubricant is almost completely discharged from the reservoir.
The distributor cylinder is easily recharged in the following way: The cover 64 is removed by pulling on it and drilling the circular spring 67 to lengthen and pass over the end of the tube 61 bent and flared, as we have shown at 68, then the handle 11 is pulled.? relative to the tube 61 and the piston 70 is thus removed from the tube.
This maneuver can be performed without intervention or resistance resulting from the depression since the first movement of the handle causes a displacement of the part 116 to open the orifices 118 and put them in communication with the air located at the rear of the piston 70 ;
this small air thus pass through the orifices 118 and through the interior of the member 116 dates the space situated in front of said piston and thus eliminates the depression which would tend to resist its return movement ( read piston 70.
The nozzle 8a, the junction box 84 and the plunger 96 with the spring 10 (i and with the other directly associated parts can be removed all in one piece from the front part of the head 75 by simply unscrewing the support 78 which carries the nozzle, the tube 98 and the other associated parts.This is an advantage for the assembly of the parts of the distributor during its manufacture or when it is desired to inspect or clean the interior.
The construction method described above also makes it possible to remove the removable parts completely in one piece and to fix the head 75 to a source of lubricant such as the reservoir in which the lubricant is kept under pressure in order to carry out the reloading. device after lubricant has been removed from it.
In this case, the piston 70 occupies an advanced position inside the cylinder 61 towards the head 75 and the lubricant pushed with force into the. lubricant reservoir pushes piston 70 rearward, air escaping through port 55 of cap 64 when reservoir is thus filled. The all-in-one element supported by the support 78 is replaced by screwing it onto the head 75.
