La fig. 1 est une vue schématique de l'ensemble de la machine; La fig. 2 est 'une vue en coupe transver sale du bloc de ladite machine en position pour exécuter la première phase de la fabri cation d'un boulon ; La fig. 3 montre ce bloc en position pour la deuxième phase et coupé longitudinalement en partie par un plan vertical passant par l'axe de la machine, en partie par un plan vertical passant par l'arbre de manceuvre ; La fig. 4 est relative à une coupe trans versale du même bloc en position pour la troisième phase de fabrication du boulon;
Machine for the manufacture of bolts, pins, valves, etc. The object of the invention is a machine for the manufacture of bolts, axles, valves, etc. This comprises a press actuated by a journaled shaft in a frame in which is mounted on a base, provided with slides, a block in which are provided three cylindrical vertical bores, the two ends containing pistons each provided with a finger of locking capable of engaging under the action of springs in housings made in the base while a piston intended to receive the rod to be shaped is arranged in the central cylindrical orifice in the upper part of which is placed a removable lower die , the upper die, also removable,
being mounted in the hammer of the press and the pistons being all three connected to a common actuator.
The accompanying drawing, given by way of example, represents an embodiment of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a schematic view of the entire machine; Fig. 2 is a cross-sectional view of the block of said machine in position to perform the first phase of the manufacture of a bolt; Fig. 3 shows this block in position for the second phase and cut longitudinally in part by a vertical plane passing through the axis of the machine, in part by a vertical plane passing through the actuator shaft; Fig. 4 relates to a cross section of the same block in position for the third phase of manufacturing the bolt;
Figs. 5 and 6 relate to a device which can be applied to the machine in order to make it automatic.
If we examine the first four figures, we see at 1 the base supporting the block 2 in which we place the rod to be shaped.
This base is itself carried by the frame 3 of the press which is actuated as usual by a shaft 4. The latter receives soli movement of a pulley 5 and carries an eccentric connected by a connecting rod 7 to the hammer 8 This one, guided between the two uprights of the frame of the machine, receives the upper die.
For the first two phases, this matrix has the form of a mass 9 in which a cavity 10 is provided; for the third phase, the mass 9 is pierced right through by an orifice 11 of hexagonal section.
In all cases, this mass 9 is retained by a ring 12 screwed at the end. a head 13 mounted in the hammer 8 so that it is always possible to release and replace it easily.
A threaded hole 14 makes it possible to send fresh air into said head; the latter, which arrives through the conduit 15, licks the ruasse 9 forming the matrix and exits through the channels 16.
For the third phase, it is good to also provide a duct 17 ensuring the arrival of the lubricating oil.
Block 2, as has been said, is supported by base 1; its base cut in the form of a dovetail can slide between two slides 18 which rest on parallel wedges 19, bolted on said base 1.
These slides, which are not parallel, converge on the contrary towards the rear so that by moving them longitudinally it is possible, as it is easy to realize, to take up the play which can always occur. under the effect of wear.
The movements of block 2 are limited by two stops; one, 20, fixed, is constituted by a plate screwed directly onto the base 1; the other, 21, which is adjustable, consists of a bolt engaged in a tab 22 integral with said base.
In the longitudinal axis of the block, cry has made three cylindrical bores 71, 72, 73 vertical each intended to receive a piston.
The two end pistons 23 are provided at the base with a finger 24 and are surmounted by a spring 25 bearing on a cover 26 closing the cylinder corresponding to the upper part. The fingers 2.1 can come to engage in dice 27 arranged to receive them inside the base 1 which is also provided with a bar 28 of resistant metal, on which the said fingers can rub during the movements of the block 2.
The latter can be locked in its working position by the end pistons provided for this purpose.
To release it, it suffices to act on a handwheel 29 integral with a shaft 30. The latter which rests horizontally in the block is in fact integral with a pinion 31 engaged with racks 32 cut laterally in the pistons. .
The central cylinder 31 contains a third piston 33 which is also provided with a rack 32 in engagement with the pinion 31 and with a groove 34 in which the end of a screw 35 engages.
A vertical hole 36 made in this udder is intended to receive the shank of the bolt to be shaped; its depth, which is obviously a function of the length of the latter, can be adjusted and a screw 60 is provided for this purpose in the machine corresponding to the third phase.
At the top of the central cylinder, the block is hollowed out and receives the lower die pierced right through.
This speaker, for the first two phases, is visible at 37, inside a bowl 38 resting in the block 2. It is held, as well as the bowl, by a ring 39 screwed into a ring 40 made itself. even secured to the block by bolts 41.
For the third phase, the die is maintained in the same way in a cup 38, but it comprises the punch 42 which surmounts the assembly and on which the head of the bolt which is to be made hexagonal rests.
Block 2 is completed by a pipe 43 in which it is possible to send pressurized air in order to cool the die and by vertical channels 44 of the tines to receive the lubricating oil for the slides 18. The operation of This machine is easily understood. The block being in contact with the stop 20, the rod to be shaped, suitably heated, is placed in the die 37 of the machine prepared for carrying out the first phase.
Then the block is pushed on the base 1 until the fingers 24 by engaging in the dice 27 ensure the centering of the assembly in the working position.
A suitably designed pedal enables the press to be operated; the hammer thereof then crushes the head of the rod in the corresponding die.
A rotation of the handwheel 29 in the desired direction at this time causes the three pistons 23 and 33 to rise, as is easy to understand. The block 2 which is thereby released can be returned to its initial position.
The first bolt blank which is lifted can be easily removed and put into the second die where the operations begin again to give the blank a shape approximating that which the finished part should have.
The second blank, after having been treated in the same way, is put in the third die where its head is cut according to the final shape to be given to the part.
It is obvious that these latter movements, which are carried out by hand, can be controlled mechanically, as has been provided for in the example of FIGS. 5 and 6.
An angle pinion 45 wedged on the motor shaft 4 engages with a pinion 46 integral with a vertical shaft 47 suitably disposed along the frame 3 of the press.
This shaft 47 transmits the movement of the motor shaft 4 via an auxiliary shaft 48 to a receiver shaft 49 placed under the base 1 in the same vertical plane as the shaft 30 of the handwheel.
The block 2 is provided laterally with a lug 50 in contact with which the periphery of a cam 51 integral with the shaft 48 can come and which ensures, as it is easy to realize, the displacement of said block. .
The return of the latter takes place under the influence of a counterweight 52 to which it is connected by means of a cable 53 not on a pulley 54.
To allow these movements to be carried out, the block must be unlocked. For this purpose, a toothed sector 55 capable of meshing with the shaft 30 is provided on the receiver shaft 49 so as to ensure the lifting by the pinion 31 of the pistons 23 and 33.
Block 2 should only leave its loading position under the control of the worker; also a lock 56 has been provided for this purpose.
The machine as it has been described so far does not ensure the total ejection of the shaped rod which is only lifted when the piston 33 is raised.
To obtain this total ejection, a hole 57 has been formed in the base 1 in which a plunger 58 can be slid in a suitably maintained position.
This pusher is arranged to be lifted abruptly by a cam 59 which is wedged on the shaft 49, so that this movement takes place when the piston 33 is located above said pusher. The cam then projects upwards the components which mount it.
