Toy for launching a propeller. The present invention relates to a toy for launching a propeller. This .comporte a rotating member, a barrel or a disc for example, which can, during the bandage of a .ressort tending to make it turn, be made integral with a fixed support, put; released to impart to the propeller, with which this member -is in mechanical relation, the rotational movement necessary to propel the propeller in the air.
Two embodiments of such a toy are shown, by way of example, in the attached drawing. They are shown in fig. 1 and 2 in longitudinal section, while FIG. 3 shows the propeller used, and fig. 4 and 5 details of one of the shapes of the toy.
Referring to fig. 1, 1 is a wooden handle which is held in the hand, its axis in the direction where the propeller is to be launched and which acts as a fixed support for the other parts of the toy. A barrel having its bottom in- 3 and its cover in 4. rotates idle on an axis 5 which passes through the handle in its entire length and on which is introduced a bung 6 for the attachment of a spring 7 and maintains it of the. barrel 2 in place. The terminal curve of the spring towards the. bung is such that the hooking is automatic.
The cover 4 has a pin 8 for driving the propeller 9 which has for .cet effect a central hole 10 for the end of the shaft 5 and a -dit 11 for the pin.
The axis 5 carries a ratchet wheel 12 large enough to allow longitudinal movement of said axis, without releasing the pawl 13 housed in a hollow screw 14 where a spring 15 is also located.
A key 16 is screwed onto the end of the axle 5 and its barrel serves as a support for a spring 17 housed concentrically to the axle in a chamber 18 of the handle. This spring works at. compression to continuously press the bottom 3 of the barrel 2 on the end of the fixed support formed by the handle. This end has a hole 19 with which a stud 20 cooperates, to stop the barrel on the handle 5.
By turning the. key 16, we tape the res out 7 which stretches: between the band 6 and the bay 2. The plug, integral with the axis 5 is: retained indirectly by the pawl. 13 and the barrel, through the stud 20 introduced into the lion 19. Pressing the key 16 in the direction of the axis 5, stops the arresta.ge 19, 20 out of service and releases the barrel which s' A nime of a rapid rotational movement by driving the propeller 9. The latter goes in the direction of the axis of the stick, as soon as its speed is sufficient.
The toy. shown in fig. 2 also has a handle 1 and a snap 12, 13, 14, 15, allowing an axis 5, provided with a key 16, to turn only in one direction. A spring 17 plays the same role here as in the previous example.
At the end of the shaft 5, a disk 21 is held axially by a washer 22 and carrying a pin 8. Its rota Lion can be prevented by a stop 19, 20. This disk 21 has a tooth 23 against which rests the last turn of a coil spring 24, housed inside the handle and hooked by its other end to a slide 25 movable along the axis 5. This slide can not rotate around the axis due to a flat 26 on which a screw 27 rests.
As in the previous example, the res out 17 maintains: the stop 19 and 20 in action when turning the. key 16, we bind the spring 24. This one works. the torsion and, its turns approaching due to their tension, the slide 25 can move longitudinally on the axis 5. By pressing the key 16, the a.rrêta.ge 19, 20 is put out of 'action and. allows the spring 24 to act on the disc to impart to it the necessary rotation. the. propulsion of the propeller.
The spring 24 being completely relaxed, the disc 21 can continue its rotation under the influence of the acquired speed, the shape of the. tooth 23 allowing the latter to pass over the end of the coil without endangering the effectiveness of the following attachment.
