Description
The process of making a durable iazo compound. It has been found that a permanent diazo compound is obtained if a chlorine zinc double salt of the formula: 2 Ce H4 Cl N2 Cl -j- Zn Ch is deposited from a solution of diazotized ortho-chloroaniline with a zinc compound.
The separated moist compound can be brought into dry form by mixing with suitable binding substances or by drying in the heat and then represents a white crystal powder, is easily soluble in water and almost colorless and has good resistance even with higher temperatures, easily couples with coupling components and is therefore valuable for producing dyeings on the fiber.
Example: 765 parts of ortho-chloroaniline are diazotized with 2400 parts of hydrochloric acid of 20 percent by weight and 1035 parts of sodium nitrate solution of 40% at low temperature. 435 parts of zinc chloride are added to the diazo solution and the diazo compound which has already partially been deposited is then completed with 470 parts of common salt.
The diazo compound deposited in crystalline form is separated from the broth by filtration and either converted into a dry powder by grinding with suitable water-binding substances, such as more or less dehydrated aluminum sulfate or alum or sodium naphthalenetetrasulfonic acid, or when heated 40 to 50 carefully dried.
The diazo compound, dried in the heat, is expediently treated with a suitable setting agent such as sodium sulfate, aluminum sulfate or alum, which can also be partially dehydrated, ent watered magnesium-potassium chloride or an aryl sulfonate, etc. Copper salts or wetting agents, one set.
