UNTERANSPRtl CHE 1. Method and device for loading pulp digesters and similar apparatus. Many methods have been attempted to target pulp digesters, for example ramming in, blowing in with compressed air, etc., in order to pack the wood chips much closer together than if they were only loaded by the weight of their own weight.
According to the invention, the loading material is now introduced into the apparatus with the aid of steam pressed into it. In a cellulose digester, the steam is condensed in the digester, for which suction is not necessary, and the steam flow not only transports the wood chips, but also allows the cooking time to be reduced considerably.
In carrying out the process in a cellulose digester, it is usually important that air located in the digester and possibly introduced with the material can be removed through openings in or on the bottom of the digester. To get rid of the air, it is advisable to use the largest possible opening. You can use the opening that is already there for emptying the cellulose mass, but you must then make sure that no material penetrates the shut-off valve.
For this purpose, a grille can be attached in front of the emptying opening, which prevents the material from passing through, while allowing air to escape. The mentioned grid can either be used loosely or rotatably arranged by means of hinges or the like so that it can be opened or lowered. In the first case, it is advisable to manufacture the grid from a material that can be cooked together with the mass and can be incorporated into it. It is also sometimes useful to make the grid collapsible so that it can be easily inserted.
In some cases it has been shown that when the material is fed in, it is advisable to use a suction line to be connected to the bottom of the cooker to effect suction in the same, so that the air located there is removed the faster and a higher pressure is used for allow the steam introduced into the cooker.
You can mix the material before or when it is introduced into the cooker with caustic to be used for cooking and introduce the caustic-soaked mass into the cooker through the influence of steam.
In order to avoid dilution of the lye, which would be a disadvantage, especially in the sulphate cellulose process (cooking with a lye containing sodium hydrate and sulfur sodium), if the lye is to be restored, the following procedure can be used: Use the zii The lye is overheated and then you let it flow into the cooker through a pipe.
When the pressure is suddenly reduced, some of the water in the liquor turns into steam, and the liquor is simultaneously converted into a mist-like mixture containing water vapor and droplets of more concentrated liquor. The outflow is directed in such a way that this mixture has a tearing effect on the material falling into the digester at the same time, with the steam condensing on the material as it cools.
In the accompanying drawings, ver different embodiments of a device for performing the method are shown in cellulose cookers; the actual cooker is not shown. Fig. 1 and 2 show a loading cylinder set up to carry out the procedural rens, respectively from the side. seen from above. A similar cylinder, provided with a zentra len distribution member, is shown in FIG. $, represented from the side; Figures 4 and 5 show from above and from the side a grid for attachment to an opening in the cooker.
An open cylinder 2 (Fig. 1 and 2) is used to introduce wood chips into the cooker. The top of the cylinder is provided with a flange 1 which, placed on a suitable base, is intended to support the cylinder in a suitable position with respect to the inlet of the cooker. A circular tube 3 is arranged on the flange 1 and is attached to a steam generator located outside the cooker.
Step six branch tubes 4, 5, starting from the aforementioned tube 3. through the flange 1 and open out at different levels within the cylinder 2. The lower parts of these two tubes are bent in the same Pielitun - in such a way that the steam jets flowing out of them are directed obliquely downwards. The branch tubes can of course also be laid entirely within the cylinder.
The chips fed to the cylinder are carried away by the steam jets and thrown into the digester with a whirling movement. If one so wishes, the cylinder and the two tubes opening into it can be arranged in such a way that steam can be introduced through individual tubes and caustic can be introduced through other tubes possibly opening at different levels.
In the embodiment which is illustrated in Fig. 3, a central distribution member f is on the upper mouth of the BPCehleliiliigsbehälters 2. attached, the upper part of which decreases conically upwards and the lower part is cylindrical in order to achieve a suitable distribution of the goods to be processed border zti.
In cases where the size of the charging cylinder and its position in relation to the charging store play a role, this distributing element provides a good service in that the charging unit directs ullosgut outwards against the outer wall of the cylinder, where the steam is blown in becomes. The un tere cylindrical part of the distributor can be omitted. The conical shape of the upper part of the same can be replaced by another, upwardly decreasing shape.
The distributor can be at a different point in the charging cylinder than at its upper mouth. be brought.
The grid shown in Fig. 4 and 5 be made of slats made of wood or similar material, which are articulated by means of wooden pegs or wire pins or the like to form a grid that can be put together like a pair of Nuremberg scissors. If the wood chips are to be introduced into the cellulose cooker, the folded-up grille is inserted through a flap and then attached in front of the opening for emptying the cellulose mass in a spread-out state and fastened here in some suitable way.
After the container has been filled, the latter opening is closed, whereby the grid remains in the container, where it is then cooked together with the wood chips and thus will go into the cellulose mass. A grid of the type described can also be attached in front of an opening other than the emptying opening, which is used to evacuate the air. SUB-CLAIM 1.
