Tool for use by watchmakers to oil watch movements and other mechanisms. The invention relates to a tool for use by watchmakers for oiling watch movements and other mechanisms.
This tool is called to replace advantageously the well-known tool -said oil spike currently used for the same purpose, by the fact that it is very economical by preventing any waste of the lubricant. In addition, it is established so that the lubricant is preserved from any chemical deterioration by the effect of light.
According to the invention, the tool comprises an ampoule intended to contain lubricating oil and having, on the one hand, a filling opening normally closed by a plug and, on the other hand, a nipple passage. lement formed by a capillary tube in stainless material, a hollow handle in which said bulb is removably adjusted by its rear part, and a tubular foot into which the bulb thus fitted when it should not be inserted. be used, in order to preserve the lubricant from any chemical alteration by the effect of light. The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, one embodiment of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 shows a longitudinal section of the tool when not in use; Fig. 2 is a section taken along line A-B -of FIG. 1.
The tool shown comprises a fusiform bulb 1, preferably made of glass, having, on the one hand, a filling opening closed by a cork stopper 2 and, on the other hand, a flow passage 3 formed. by a capillary tube 4 made of stainless material, for example gold, fixed in the tapered tip of the bulb. The ampoule 1 contains a certain quantity of fine lubricated oil. By its rear part, the bulb is removably adjusted, by wedging, in a hollow handle 5 formed by a socket with a flat bottom.
When not using the tool, the hen thus fitted is engaged, by its front part, in a hollow foot 6, preferably made of cast iron, so that the lubricant is protected from the light and therefore preserved from any alteration by the caloric or chemical effect of sunlight or electric light.
To use the tool, it is removed from the foot 6 by grasping it by its handle 5. Then it is primed by inserting a thin rod into the capillary tube 4. From then on, the tool can be used without interruption. , because it suffices, to lubricate an organ, to touch it by the tip of the capillary tube 4 which then delivers an oil droplet.
To put oil back into the ampoule 1, it is removed from the handle 5 and, after having poured lubricant through the filling opening and plugged the latter, it is put back into the handle.
The shape and dimensions of the elements constituting the object of the invention may differ from the example described with regard to the attached drawings.
