Apparatus for cinematographic projections. The present invention relates to an apparatus for cinematographic projections, characterized by a frame, comprising separate compartments with independent accesses, compartments of which one is provided for the film drive mechanism, the shutter and the shutter members. clutch, another for the lighting device, the third for a resistance, a fourth for the debtor mechanism, serving for uniform transport of the film and a compartment, containing the motor with fan, said frame carrying a horizontal shaft, controlled by the motor and controlling itself, on the one hand, the debtor device and, on the other hand, the film drive mechanism and the shutter:
said apparatus making it possible to employ at least two different films, by virtue of at least two profiled parts and arranged in such a way that they make it possible to form at least two distinct corridors, each having characteristics related to the film used, the device drive being combined with these two parts of the neck so that it allows the drive ment of each of the films. The accompanying drawings give, by way of example, one embodiment of the present invention.
Fig. 1 shows a view of the apparatus in elevation, partially cut away; Fig. 2 shows the device seen from the front, partially cut away; Fig. 3 shows the device from behind, partially cut off; Fig. 4 shows another view of the assembly, partially cut away; Figs. 5, 6, 7 and 8 give the details of the previous figures; Figs. 9, 10 and 11 show the details of FIG. 6.
The device consists of a frame on a base 1 (fig. 1 ) , bearing on its respective faces the following compartments: A housing 2 at the base, containing a motor 3 and the fans 69 and 70; a housing 4, closing the film drive mechanism 23, the shutter-pulley 5 and the clutch 6; a compartment 7 in the rear part, containing a wheel 8, controlled by a worm 10, integral with the central shaft 11 (debtor mechanism serving for uniform transport of the film) and a housing 12 (fig. 3 and 4), containing the resistors 13 and 14. A housing 15 (fig. 1) receives a lamp 16 and the capacitor 17. Each of its compartments has a cover, which allows its access.
The mechanism consists of a central shaft 11 (fig. 1, 5, 6, and 8), controlled by a flywheel 5, connected to the motor 3 by a belt 18, passing over a pulley 19 of the motor shaft. A carriage 20 (fig. 1, 5, 6 and 8), guided by a slide, is moved by a cam 21, integral with the shaft 11, turning in a rectangle 22, formed by the raised edges of the carriage 20. This carriage carries a claw 23, pivoting at 24 and biased by a spring 25 on the side of the film 26. The claw carries marginal teeth 27 and 28 and a central 29, resiliently mounted (fig. 1 and 8).
The claw 23 carries a roller 30 (Fig. 5), rolling on a snail-shaped disc 31 and which aims to move the claw back as soon as it has driven the film. The shutter 5 is loose on the shaft 11. The clutch is produced by the moving part 6 (fig. 1 and 6) sliding on the shaft. The spring 33 pushes the part 6 against the flywheel 5; their pins 34 and 35 come into contact and the motor drives the mechanism. A lever 36 (fig. 5), pivoting at 37, disengages by pushing back the slide 6 and locking the shaft by friction. This disengagement can be done automatically by virtue of the lever 38, pivoting at 39 and abutting by its extension 32a against a pin 40 of the lever 36.
Its opposite end, 41, by entering a notch made in the edge of the rope, against which it constantly rubs, is lowered and its opposite end 32a releases the che ville 40 and the lever 36. Two springs 32 and 331, solicit them two levers in the desired direction. This disengagement stops the shaft and therefore the entire film drive system and the film itself. To restart it, simply raise lever 36.
The worm 10 (fig. 1) controls the wheel 8 and thereby the debtor 42, on which passes the film 43 and 44 twice. The upper debtor reel 45 is carried by a single axis, not shown, connected to the pulley. 46 (fig. 3) by a belt 46a (fig. 4).
The film unwinds from the reel, passes over the debtor 42 (fig. 1), applied against this debtor by a pair of rollers, makes a first loop 47, enters the passage formed by a part 48 and a shutter 49 (fig. . 6), elastically mounted on the lantern 15, makes a second loop 50, returns-again to the debtor 42, applied by other rollers and is wound on the receiving reel 51, controlled by a pulley 52, a belt 53 and another pulley 54 (fig. 1, 3 -and 4).
The pulleys 46 and 54 are free on a shaft 55 (fig. 3) and are driven by friction, thanks to the leathers 56 and 57, interposed and pressed by a spring 58, by means of a nut 59. The pulley 46 is designed to be connected to the upper coil 45, in the event of reverse gear, obtained by reversing the direction of the motor, thanks to the switch 61 (FIG. 1). The spool pulleys are ratcheted to be driven in one direction. The arms 93 and 94 (fig. 4j carry the coils and fold back at rest against the device.
The resistance elements 13 and 1-1 (fig. 3 and 4) are in the circuit of the lamp and titi contact 63, controlled by a rod 64, allows its light intensity to be varied. Pushed to the limit, the rod 64 cuts off the light. The connections are such that the lamp can be lit without the motor and the fans running. The same resistor can be connected with the motor to adjust the current flow.
The speed of the motor 3 is also regulated mechanically by a brake, composed of a screw 65 (fig. 3) pushing by means of a spring 66 a wiper 67 against a cylinder 68, integral with the shaft. . ] -, the fans 69 and 70 (fig. 1) send the air respectively into the resistance and the drive system, from where it passes over the film and the capacitor. The openings in the walls of the frame also allow cooling of the motor and the lamp. Buttons 71 and 72 (fig. 1 and 4) are used to control the device by hand for fixed projections, for example.
The flywheel-pulley 5 (fig. 1 and 5) functions as a shutter thanks to the pre-seen openings. The second shutter 73 (fig. 1 and 6) connected directly to the motor by a belt 74 and rotating faster, serves as an anti-flicker when the headlamp runs slowly. The introduction of the film into the corridor is facilitated by the retraction of the lantern 15, sliding on two rails 75 and 76. The base of the apparatus carries four rubbers 77, 78, 79 and 80, absorbing noise. The handle 81 facilitates the transport of the device.
The following device is provided to allow the projection of different films, for example a wide film with two marginal perforations and a narrow one with a central perforation, the two films having. the same not. In the first case, the room 48 of the corridor is used in the position shown in FIG. 6. The large window 82 (fig. 7) faces the lens. Only the marginal teeth 27 and 28 will act by passing through the openings 83 and 84. The central tooth 29 (fig. 8) being elastically mounted by means of a spring weaker than the spring 25 of the claw, will be stopped by the part. full neck 85.
The edges of the film will slide on the protrusions 86, 87 and 88 of the room 48 of the corridor and those of the shutter 49 (fig. 6). In the second case, the part 48, which can ash thanks to the slides 89 and 90, will be pushed down. The small window 91 (fig. 7), corresponding to the narrow film, will come in front of the projection window. The opening 93 will come at. the central tooth 29, which alone will drive the film; the marginal teeth will pass outside the film. This selection of teeth can also be done by hand.
Another means of selecting the action of the claws can be employed as follows: the hallway part 48 and the shutter 49 (fig. 11) have superimposed undercuts, each of which is appropriate for the width of each film. The teeth of the claw 23 will be of unequal length and may or may not be resiliently mounted. The wide film 26 will be driven by the teeth 27 and 28 (fig. 8) and the narrow film 26a - which will occupy the narrower housing of the passage 48 and being set back from the housing provided for the wide film 26, will be driven. by the claw 29 (fig. 8 and 11) shorter than the previous teeth.
This tooth 29 will not reach film 26.
Thus each film will occupy a respective shot in the corridor and each tooth will work in one of the shots corresponding to its film. To improve the pressure of the narrow rope in the corridor 48, the shutter 49. will carry an additional additional part which will fill the space 49 ". The film can be rewound by the motor or by means of a crank. where the pitch of the two films would be different, we can vary the stroke of the claw by modifying, for example, the eccentricity of the cam 21. The part 48 controlled by a washer 94, allows the framing of the image. 98, 99, 100 and 101 (fig. 9, 10 and 11), ensure the guidance of the narrow film and are retracted when using the wide film.
Figs. 10 and 11 respectively show the two corridors formed.
The shutter could carry fins to help cool the film.
