  Verfahren     zur    Darstellung von     2,7-Dimethylanthracen.       Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung  ist ein Verfahren zur Darstellung von     2,7-          Dimethylanthracen.     



  Es wurde gefunden, dass man     2,7-Dime-          thylanthracen    erhält, wenn man die Dämpfe  von 2, 6,     5'-Triinethylbenzophenon    bei erhöh  ter Temperatur über hochporöse Stoffe leitet.  Die Reaktion vollzieht sich hierbei so, dass  unter Wasseraustritt     Ringschluss    erfolgt. Als  hochporöse Stoffe kommen zum Beispiel  aktive Kohle,     Silica-Cxel    oder Tonerde in  Betracht. Zweckmässig verdünnt man die       Ketondämpfe    mit Luft und arbeitet in Ge  genwart katalytisch wirkender Stoffe, wie  zum Beispiel     Kupfer,        Cer    und ihrer Salze.

    <I>Beispiel:</I>  Über einen in einem Kupfergefäss auf 4000  erhitzten Kontakt aus hochaktiver Kohle, wie  sie aus     Grudekoks    durch     Wasserdampfakti-          vierung    erhalten wird, werden die Dämpfe  von 2, 5,     5'-Ti-imethylbenzophenwi    mit etwas  Luft gemischt geleitet.

   Das Reaktionsprodukt  wird kondensiert, der Kristallkuchen vom ge-    bildeten Wasser abgetrennt, mit warmem  Sprit verrieben und     abgepresst.    Das unver  änderte alkohollösliche     Keton    geht zum Pro  zess zurück, der     Pressrückstand    bildet tech  nisch reines     2,7-Dimethylanthracen.    Die     Aus-          beute        beträgt        60        %        der        Theorie.

  It has been found that 2,7-dimethylanthracene is obtained if the vapors of 2,6,5'-triinethylbenzophenone are passed over highly porous substances at an elevated temperature. The reaction takes place in such a way that ring closure occurs with the escape of water. Active carbon, silica-cxel or alumina can be considered as highly porous substances. It is advisable to dilute the ketone vapors with air and to work in the presence of catalytically active substances such as copper, cerium and their salts.

    <I> Example: </I> The vapors of 2, 5, 5'-Ti-imethylbenzophenwi are mixed with a little air via a contact made of highly active carbon, such as is obtained from Grudekoks through steam activation, heated in a copper vessel mixed headed.

   The reaction product is condensed, the crystal cake is separated from the water formed, rubbed with warm fuel and pressed out. The unchanged alcohol-soluble ketone goes back to the process, the residue from the press forms technically pure 2,7-dimethylanthracene. The yield is 60% of theory.

PATENTANSPRUCH: Verfahren zur Darstellung von 2,7-Dime- thylanthracen aus 2, 5, 5'-Trimethylbenzo- phenon, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man Ketondampf bei erhöhter Temperatur über hochporöse Stoffe leitet. UNTERANSPRUCH: Verfahren nach Patentanspruch, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man den Ketondampf bei erhöhter Temperatur über hochporöse Stoffe in Gegenwart von katalytisch wirken den Körpern leitet. PATENT CLAIM: Process for the preparation of 2,7-dimethylanthracene from 2,5,5'-trimethylbenzo- phenone, characterized in that ketone vapor is passed over highly porous substances at an elevated temperature.
