Description
Verfahren zum Entwässern von wässerigem Äthylalkohol. Die vollkommene Entwässerung von wäs serigem Äthylalkohol kann bekanntlich in der Weise ausgeführt werden, dass man zum Beispiel zirka 94%igem Sprit wasserentzie hende Substanzen, wie zum Beispiel gebrann ten Kalk, zusetzt und dann unter Rückfluss- kühlung bei normalem Druck kocht, oder dass man die Dämpfe des Sprits über oder durch Lagen von gebranntem Kalk bei nor- malein Druck leitet.
Es wurde nun gefunden, dass, wenn man wässerigen Äthylalkohol in flüssigem Zustand in einer geschlossenen Apparatur mit ge branntem. Kalk bei erhöhtem Druck und er liöhter Temperatur kocht, bezw. die Dämpfe des wässerigen Alkohols bei erhöhtem Druck und erhöhter Temperatur mit dem gebrannten Kalk in Berührung bringt, der Vorgang der Entwässerung sehr erheblich beschleunigt wird. Zweckmässig erhitzt man hierbei so hoch, dass der Druck höher als eine Atmos- pliäreÜberdruck ist.
Aiis <I>f</I> iähriingsbeispiel: Es wurde zum Beispiel aus 100 Liter 93,9%igem Sprit, durch Kochen mit 25 kg branntem Kalk bei gewöhnlichem Druck unter Rückflusskühlung und der entsprechen- den Siedetemperatur von zirka<B>80'</B> C nach 1 Stunde ein 98,1%iger Alkohol und erst nach 3 bis 4 Stunden ein wasserfreier Alkohol erhalten.
Beim Erhitzen derselben Mengen Sprit (93,9%ig) und gebranntem Kalk in einer ge schlossenen Apparatur auf 2,5 Atmosphären und einer Temperatur von zirka.<B>116'</B> wurde schon nach 1 Stunde ein 99,9%iger Alkohol erhalten.
