Description
Process for the preparation of N-N'-dihydro-1.2.2'.1'-anthraehinonazine. It has been found that antrahydroebinones which have alcohol or acid residues in the hydroxyl groups and which also contain one or more amino groups in the B position, in such a way that at least one a position ortho to an amino group is unoccupied when acting.
Oxidizing agents go into dyes of the N-N'-dihydroanthraehinonazine class. The aminoanthrahydroquinone esters or ethers used as starting materials are obtained by known methods by reducing B-acyl aminoanthraquinones, esterifying or etherifying the hydroxyl groups, for example with chlorosulfonic acid or dimethyl sulfate and the N-acyl residue is split off.
The oxidation can be carried out in the most varied of ways in the presence of acids or alkalis at normal or elevated temperature.
The subject of this patent is a process for the preparation of N-N'-dihydro-1. 2. 2 '. 1'-anthraquinone azine, which consists in the fact that a 2-aminoanthrahydroquinone-9. 10-diestersulfonate of the following formula:
EMI0001.0033
treated in aqueous solution with oxidizing agents.
Examples: 1. An aqueous solution of 42.9 parts by weight of the disodium salt of 2-amino anthrahydroquinone - 9.10 - diestersulfonic acid is mixed with 4 parts by weight of sodium hydroxide solution of 40 B6 and with stirring at 10 to 15 in portions with an aqueous solution of 16 parts by weight Potassium permanganate is added until it is no longer consumed. After suctioning off the resulting brown stone, the yellow solution is acidified, the color changing to purple-red.
After a short time, a violet-red colored compound separates out, which is filtered off with suction and washed with cold water. This is soluble in hot water and, from an acidic bath, draws its purple-red color onto wool.
The purple-red product is dissolved in water and heated with 7 parts by weight of sodium nitrite to 90 to 95 for some time. The insoluble dye soon precipitates, which is sucked off and washed out with water. Treated with diluted alkali and hydrosulfite, it supplies a blue vat from which cotton is dyed in pure blue tones.
2. The process of Example 1 can also be modified so that after acidifying the product is not first isolated, but directly heated to about 50 with 7 parts by weight of nitrite until the violet-red color has disappeared. The dye is suctioned off and thoroughly cleaned Emküpen.
3. Use instead of the 16 parts by weight of permanganate in Example 1, a 2.8% by volume hypochlorite solution and set. this is added under exactly the same conditions as in example 1 until hypochlorite is present in excess, after standing for a while it takes away the excess, for example with sulphite and otherwise works as indicated in example 1, the same dye is obtained. In exactly the same way, instead of hypochlorite, potassium ferricyanide, etc., can be used.
4. An aqueous solution of 42.9 parts by weight of the disodium salt of 2-amino anthrahydroquinone - 9. 10 - diestersulfonic acid is made slightly acidic with hydrochloric acid, if necessary filtered and mixed with iron chloride solution at normal temperature while stirring until this remains in excess located.
The mixture is stirred for a few hours, then the dark blue precipitate is filtered off with suction, washed thoroughly with acidic water and pure water and the dye obtained is purified - if necessary - by vatting.
This is identical to the dye of Example 1.
5. A solution of 1000 parts by weight of ferric sulfate and 500 parts by weight of sodium sulfate in 3500 parts by weight of water is added simultaneously with stirring to 5'00 parts by weight of a 15% sodium sulfate solution, which is heated to 80 to 85 parts by weight a solution of 429 parts by weight of the disodium salt of 2-aminoanthrahydroquinone-9.10-diester sulfonic acid and 80 parts by weight of caustic soda in 5000 parts by weight of water.
After the solutions have combined, the mixture is left to stir for a short time at 85 to 90 'and the blue dye formed is processed as indicated in Example 4-. The yield almost reaches the theoretically possible amount.
