Gemäss vorliegender Erfindung sucht man diesem Übelstande vorzubeugen.
Electric starter motors for internal combustion engines, in particular those for motor vehicles. With the various pinion starters that are still on the market today, which are provided with a cushioning mechanism to prevent the pinion from hitting the ring gear, it still often happens that the ring gear is worn quite heavily and has to be replaced with a new one from time to time .
According to the present invention one seeks to prevent this disadvantage.
In the drawing, an embodiment example of the invention in Fig. 1 to 4 is provided.
5 is the rotor of the starter motor with the hollow shaft 15 which is mounted at 16 and 17 in the starter housing 11; 18 is the collector and 10 is the field winding of the starter motor; the field poles sit on the inner circumference of the starter housing. The intermediate piece 3 is seated in the hollow shaft 15 so as to be displaceable and coupled to it by the multi-plate clutch 4.
The multi-disc clutch 4 consists of the multi-disc rings 4A and 4b provided with radial projections (Fig. 3 and 4), the copper washers ''; are layered and engage with their projections in grooves of the intermediate piece 3 and the hollow shaft 15 alternately. The lamellas are under the pressure of the spring 23. The inter mediate piece 3 has nut threads in which the partially threaded spindle 2 is mounted. The pinion 1 and a flywheel 12 are seated at the outer end of the spindle.
At the inner end of the spindle 2, held by the nuts 9 and 29, a disk 19 is firmly seated. 21 and 22 are two disks that can be moved on the spindle. The springs 20 and B are seated between the disks 19, 21 and 22. Of these, the spring 8 serves as a buffer member for reducing the impact of the spindle and the intermediate sleeve, while the spring 20 is provided with a slight bias and is used for this purpose to hold the buffer spring in its position and to fix the pinion in its rest position. A sleeve 6 is pushed over the inner end of the spindle 2, which:
is provided with a bottom against which the spring 13 is supported, walolle on the other hand against the bore of the hollow shaft 15 rests. The spring 13 is used to press the sleeve 6 and thus the intermediate piece 3 against the cover disk 14 in order to compensate for the axial pressures.
Fig. 1 shows the starter in rest position. When the motor is energized, the rotating armature, as a result of the coupling of the hollow shaft with the intermediate piece 3 through the multi-disc clutch 4, also sets the intermediate piece in motion and unscrews the spindle 2, which has a certain inertia due to its mass:
If the pinion 1 with its teeth meets tooth gaps on the ring gear of the flywheel of the internal combustion engine to be started, the spindle screws itself forward until the nut 9 rests against the disk 21, the spindle 2 via the buffer spring 8 which is pressed together the inter mediate piece 3 and via the coupling 4 with the hollow shaft 15 forms a whole, so that the starter motor brings the pinion into Dre and the engine is turned on.
If, on the other hand, the pinion with its teeth meets the teeth of the Schwungradzahnkraiizes, the spindle 2 stops, and the motor armature is due to the coupling of the hollow shaft with the spacer, the latter screw back on the stationary spindle. The spring 7 is compressed by the sleeve 6. The longitudinal movement of the intermediate piece and sleeve against the spindle lasts until the washer 21 rests against the nut 9, d. H. until the former has covered path A.
The buffer spring 8 is tensioned, and the spindle 2, which in turn forms a whole with the hollow shaft 15 via the nut 9, washer 21, spring 8, washer 22, intermediate sleeve 3 and coupling 4, performs a ge rings rotation until the The teeth of the pinion come to stand in front of the gaps between the teeth of the ring gear. Now the spring 7 drives the sleeve 6, intermediate piece 3 and spindle 2 with pinion 1 to the outside; the pinion can now enter the gaps between the teeth of the ring gear.
The spring 8 serves as a buffer for the spindle 2 when it moves forward and as a buffer for the intermediate sleeve 3 when it moves backwards is transferred to the Lamellenkupp ment, but the buffer spring 8 takes the first impact, unc only when this rises above the strength of the spring,
the multi-disc clutch is claimed.
