Wrapping of clnematographic film. The object of the present invention is a cinematographic film packaging, charac terized in that it comprises a reel which can be dismantled into two parts, each comprising a light-tight cheek, reel which can be dismantled in order to facilitate loading. and unloading the film in roll form.
Known reels for blank graphic motion pictures have the drawback that the film cannot be removed or put in place without being fully unwound, which causes risks of damage to the reel and an appreciable waste of time. The reel being of a relatively high price, it is advantageous not to oblige the purchaser of the line to pay each time the value of the reel.
These drawbacks are avoided by the present invention which offers the advantage of allowing the instantaneous loading and unloading of the reel, without it being necessary to unwind the film.
The appended drawing represents an embodiment of the invention, given by way of example. Figs. 1 and 2 represent a coil made up of two cheeks 3 and 4, pierced in the middle of a square hole 2 for its drive by the axis of the apparatus. These cheeks have two cores 5 and 6, screwing into each other and having round holes 7 and 8. The film 9 (fig. 3) is rolled in advance and comprises internally and externally two leader ends 10 and 11, formed by black paper cut and perforated like the film. The loading consists only in the placing of this roll on the cheek 3 of FIG. 2, after which we fix over the cheek 4.
Thanks to the outer primer 11 and the cheeks which are opaque, the film is entirely protected and the reel can, at this moment, be taken out into the light of day. To prevent the accidental unwinding of the primer, it is lightly glued, for example, to the next turn at 12, which leaves one end free. During the course in the apparatus, the bonding is destroyed by the traction exerted by the driving of the apparatus, FIG. 4 shows the coil mounted. To protect the film even more effectively against dust and atmospheric action, for example, the full reel can be surrounded by a band in the form of a circle 13 (fig. 5-6) leaving a free passage for the portion. 11.
The hoop can be held in place by any means, for example, by a spout 14, carried by one end of the hoop and entering the slot at the other end, or by a rubber band placed around the hoop.
In order to simplify manufacture, the two cheeks 3 and 4 (FIG. 6) are identical. However, to prevent the coil from being placed on the axis of the apparatus on the wrong side, the bottoms of the cores 5 and 6 are different: the core 6 has a housing formed by the part 8, deep enough to receive the entire core. rectangular part 15 of the axis 16. On the other hand, the opposite bottom of the core 5 is very close to the opening of its cheek and prevents the entry into third of the square part of the axis. In addition, the cores 6 can carry two springs 17 and 18, the ends of which almost touch each other and are directed towards the opening of the cheek 3, in order to prevent the entry of this side of the axis of the apparatus.
