Electrical device containing at least one gas-filled hot cathode discharge tube. The invention relates to an electrical device which contains at least one gas-filled hot cathode discharge tube. In the following, the glow cathode is intended to be not only one by a galvanic current, but also one in another way, e.g. B. by the discharge, heated cathode understood who if the temperature to which the Ka method is heated is so high that the discharge has the character of an arc discharge.
When operating such a device, the phenomenon can occur that the discharge between the hot cathode and an anode of a discharge tube under certain circumstances, e.g. B. when approaching the device is interrupted.
Since an electrical device according to the invention contains at least one hot cathode discharge tube, the circuit in which this discharge tube is located carries direct current. In the following, this circuit will be referred to by the name "DC circuit", even if the electrical device is not intended, or not exclusively, for rectifying alternating currents.
According to the invention, the above-mentioned deficiency can be remedied in such a way that one point of the direct current circuit is connected to at least one conductive element arranged in the vicinity of the discharge tube.
In one embodiment of the invention, a point of the direct current circuit is connected by a resistor or a capacitance to a metal housing forming the wall of the electrical device.
According to another embodiment, a point of the direct current circuit can be connected to a conductive layer covering the wall of the discharge tube.
In the last-mentioned two embodiments, the connection can be successfully formed by a graphite line. The conductive organ can also be connected to a point that has earth potential.
The drawing illustrates two example embodiments of the invention.
Fig. 1 shows an embodiment in which a discharge tube is surrounded by a metal shell in a short distance, and in the embodiment shown in Fig. 2, the wall of the tube is covered with a lei border layer.
In FIG. 1, 1 denotes the wall of a gas-filled discharge tube which contains a hot cathode 2 and anodes 3 and 4. The hot cathode is supported by the leads 5 and 6, which are led through the foot 7 of the tube to the outside and with the lead wires 8 and 9 a related party. The anodes are arranged in arms 10 and 11 attached to the side of the tube, and their lead wires are passed through at 12 and 13.
The discharge tube is surrounded a short distance Ent by a metal shell 14, which is connected to a lead wire of the hot cathode by a resistor 15, which can consist of a graphite line.
The envelope which surrounds the discharge tube 1 very closely according to this figure can also be formed by a metal housing which, in addition to the entire discharge tube, also contains the auxiliary devices used for operation, such as the transformer and the resistance lamp.
The wall of the discharge tube shown in FIG. 2 is denoted by 16, the hot cathode by 17 and the anodes by 18 and 19. The leads of the electrodes are led to the outside through the pinch point 20 and are connected to the lead wires 21, 22, 23 and 24.
The wall of the tube is covered with a lei border layer 25, for. B. made of staniol, pulled over, which is connected to the lead wire 22 of the cathode by a resistor 26, which may consist of a graphite line.
