Description

Gegenstand dieses Zusatzpatentes ist ein Verfahren zur Darstellung eines Gemisches zweier Verbindungen, deren Konstitution noch nicht. feststeht, welches dadurch gekennzeich net ist, dass man a-Methyl-indol mit 1'Ialein- säureanhydrid kondensiert. Das Gemisch soll zur Herstellung von Farbstoffen, pharmazeu tischen Produkten und Riechstoffen verwen det werden.
<I>Beispiel:</I> Werden molekulare Mengen von a Methyl- indol und Maleinsäureanhydrid vorsichtig so lange mit Benzol versetzt, bis eine klare, gelb gefärbte Lösung entstanden ist, so tritt im Laufe mehrerer- Stunden eine Vertiefung der Färbung ein, die Lösung wird viskos und scheidet allmählich eine reichliche Kry- stallisation ab, die nach 1-2 Tagen voll ständig ist. Durch Auskochen mit Toluol lässt sie sich in einem in diesem Lösungsmit tel löslichen und einen darin unlöslichen An teil zerlegen.
Die lösliche Substanz schmilzt nach der Reinigung bei<B>169'.</B> Sie ist aus gleichen Molekülen der miteinander reagierenden Stoffe aufgebaut. Die in Toluol nicht lösliche Ver bindung schmilzt bei 23"0-236 . Sie ist aus zwei Molekülen Methyl-indol und einem Mole kül Maleinsäureanhydrid gebildet.
