Description
Geschoss für Infanteriegewehre, Schnellfeuerwaffen und Pistolen. Bekanntlich spielten die chemischen Kampfstoffe im Weltkriege bereits eine wich tige Rolle. Dieselben wurden entweder über dem Feinde abgeworfen, oder in Granaten verfeuert.
Es wurde nun gefunden, dass sehr nachhal tige Wirkungen zu erzielen sind, wenn die gebräuchlichen Kampfstoffe in Infanteriege- schosse untergebracht, und letztere, beson ders aus dem Maschinengewehr verfeuert werden. Das neue Geschoss kann etwa fol gendermassen zusammengesetzt sein Im vordern Teile des Geschosses ist eine hochverdichtete Initialladung c aus Knall quecksilber, oder Schwermetallazid und in unmittelbarer Berührung damit eine Spreng ladung d, bestehend aus modernen Nitro- sprengstoffen, wie Trinitrotoluol, Tetranitro- methylanilin,
Pentaerythrittetranitrat bezw. Gemischen angebracht, und zwar derart, dass diese Ladungen von Metall und einer Zwi schenlage aus nachgiebigem Material um schlossen sind, während sich die beiden La dungen direkt berühren. Die Geschossspitze a besteht aus weichem Metall, wie Blei, Alu minium usw., während der Geschossmantel b aus zähem Material gefertigt ist. Letzterer besitzt eine hermetisch verschlossene Kam mer f, die den Kampfstoff in flüssiger oder fester Form enthält.
Zwischen Sprengladung und Kampfstoff befindet sich eine Lage e von nachgiebigem Material, wie Filz, Kork, Pappe oder ähnliche Stoffe. Endlich wird der Behälter mit dem Giftstoff am hintern Geschossende durch einen Bleipfropfen h ge halten, der durch den umgebördelten Geschoss- mantel am Herausfallen verhindert wird.
Das vorbescbriebene Geschoss lässt sich nun in bekannter Weise mit Hülse und Pul verladung kombinieren, und wie gewöhnliche Munition aus den gebräuchlichen Handfeuer waffen verfeuern.
Trifft ein solches Geschoss auf einen festen Gegenstand auf, so deformiert sich die Ge- schossspitze, worauf Initial- und Sprengla dung zur Detonation kommen, wobei die Giftkammer verrissen und der Kampfstoff zerstäubt wird.

- PATENTANSPRUCH: Geschoss für Infanteriegewehre, Schnell feuerwaffen und Pistolen, dadurch gekenn zeichnet, dass hinter einer Geschossspitze aus weichem Metall eine Initial- und eine Spreng ladung angebracht sind, welche eine dahin- terliegende hermetisch verschlossene, mit Giftstoff gefüllte Kammer beim Auftreffen am Ziel zerteilen und den Giftstoff zerstäu ben.
