Description
Verfahren zur Darstellung einer m-Ogy-phenylarylaminearbonsäure. Vorliegendes Patent bezieht sich auf ein Verfahren zur Herstellung einer m-Oxy- phenylaiylamincarbonsäure, dadurch gekenn zeichnet, dass man ein Alkalisalz von 3-Oxy- :3' 4'-dichlor-6'-methyldiphenylamin mit Koh lensäure unter Druck erhitzt.
Die 3-Oxy-3' 4'-dichlor-6'-methyl-diphe- nv lamincarbonsäure ist ein rotbraunes Pul ver, das nach dem Umkristallisieren aus Eis essig den Schmelzpunkt<B>203'</B> C zeigt. Ihre alkoholische Lösung gibt mit verdünnter Eisenchloridlösung eine intensive kirschrote Färbung. Das Produkt soll als Zwischenpro dukt zur Herstellung von Farbstoffen ver wendet werden.
<I>Beispiel:</I> 536 Teile 3-Oxy-3' 4'-dichlor-6'-methyldi- phenylamin werden mit 133,6 Teilen Itzkali 83,8 % ig und 2000 Teilen Wasser in einem mit Rührwerk versehenen Autoklaven in Lö sung gebracht und das Wasser im Vakuum bis zur völligen Trockenheit des gebildeten Kaliumsalzes abdestilliert. Nach dem Er kalten der Reaktionsmasse leitet man Kohlen- säure bis zu einem Druck von 10 Atm. ein und erhitzt auf 170 C während 16 Stunden.
Die erkaltete Schmelze wird in heissem Wasser gelöst, filtriert und die gebildete Carbonsäure mit Salzsäure gefällt. Zur wei teren Reinigung kann dieselbe aua Soda oder Natriumacetat umgelöst werden.

The present patent relates to a process for the preparation of an m-oxyphenylaiylamine carboxylic acid, characterized in that an alkali salt of 3-oxy-: 3'4'-dichloro-6'-methyldiphenylamine is heated with carbonic acid under pressure.
3-Oxy-3 '4'-dichloro-6'-methyl-diphenylamine carboxylic acid is a red-brown powder which, after recrystallization from glacial acetic acid, has a melting point of <B> 203' </B> C. Their alcoholic solution gives an intense cherry-red color with a dilute ferric chloride solution. The product is intended to be used as an intermediate product in the manufacture of dyes.
<I> Example: </I> 536 parts of 3-oxy-3 '4'-dichloro-6'-methyldiphenylamine are mixed with 133.6 parts of 83.8% Itzkali and 2000 parts of water in an autoclave equipped with a stirrer brought into solution and the water was distilled off in vacuo until the potassium salt formed was completely dry. After the reaction mass has cooled, carbonic acid is passed up to a pressure of 10 atm. and heated to 170 C for 16 hours.
The cooled melt is dissolved in hot water, filtered and the carboxylic acid formed is precipitated with hydrochloric acid. For further cleaning, the same can be dissolved in soda or sodium acetate.
