La présente invention remédie à cet in convénient.
Burst arc extinguishing device for switches in oil. It is known, in switches in oil, to use electromagnetic blowing to promote breaking arcs of rupture.
In devices of this type, a large winding through which the current to be cut has been used, this winding consisting of superimposed turns extending over the entire width of the movable bridge.
It will be appreciated that a device of this kind is very bulky and considerably increases the price of the switch.
The present invention overcomes this disadvantage.
It relates to an extinguishing device for switches in oil, comprising a winding through which the current to be cut is carried, characterized in that this winding consists of several concentric turns.
The appended drawing shows schematically several examples of execution of the object of the invention. As shown in FIG. 1; the spark arrester essentially consists of a winding Ai formed by a conductor rolled up several times on itself, in which the current passes; the contact between this part and the second part A2 of the spark arrester is established at B outside the winding 9i at the end of the last turn.
The different turns of the winding are isolated from each other.
When the two parts of the spark arrester separate, an arc Bi B2 shown in fig. 2 is born. This arc is subjected to the action of the lines of force of the magnetic field, perpendicular to the plane of the figure, created by the winding; the resulting repulsive force on the arc is directed perpendicularly to the plane formed by the arc and the lines of force, i.e. along C.
The winding can be provided with or without an internal magnetic core, this core will be in laminated iron or in solid iron. On the other hand, insulating partitions arranged on each side of the windings protect the sides of the turns against any risk of arcing.
In a first application, shown schematically in FIG. 3, the spark arrester is placed on the moving part of the switch and moves with it when the switch trips.
Fig. 4 shows a second mode of application of the spark arrester, according to which a second fixed winding As, which can comprise a magnetic core, gives rise to a blowing field parallel and in the same direction as that created by the first winding, thus increasing the importance of the repulsion effect of the arc.
In certain cases, the windings A of FIG. 4. Instead of placing the contact piece on a -sleep of the winding, it is also possible to mount it elsewhere and connect it to the bearing by means of a conductor. In some embodiments, this conductor will have the shape of a horn.
