Description
Agrafe flexible.
Flexible clip. The untimely stopping of machines in industry is still too often due to badly conditioned belts requiring the intervention of the mechanic, either because their clips break or because their length is poorly adapted to the distance of the axes and the diameters of the pulleys. The disadvantage of sewn and glued belts, which are excellent in terms of flexibility, is precisely the difficulty encountered with regard to their length adjustment. Quick installation clips which are at the same time strong and flexible therefore have significant advantages in avoiding wasted time in workshops.
The present invention is a flexible clip screwing onto a circular section belt. It is characterized in that it consists of a metal wire wound in a helix over at least part of its length, this wire having, over at least part of its length, a cross section such that, when is wound in a helix, it presents inside the coil spring that it forms, a net of triangular section with a sharp edge capable of threading a belt when it is screwed on it.
The accompanying drawing, given by way of example, shows the principle together with various embodiments of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is an exterior view of the grafe in the form of a coil spring over part of its length and presenting, on the other hand, a hook intended to be hooked to a hook 1 similar to another clip of the same kind , whose propeller can be either right or left; Fig. 2 is a section through the same staple and shows the particular shape given to the section of the wire over part of its length; Fig. 3 shows this section on a larger scale.
It will be understood that the purpose of this shape is to create the thread of triangular section with a cutting edge 2 shown on the inside of the clip in FIG. 2; Fig. 4 shows two staples assembled by their hooks 1 and screwed onto a king strap; Figs. 5 and 6 show an embodiment which consists in which a single clip can join the two ends of a belt by screwing on. right on one and left on the other.
The clip can also. serve to join the two ends of a belt by being made of a wire wound from end to end in the same direction, and also by presenting two helices separated by a part 6 of suitably shaped and dimensioned chosen for flexibility and resistance.
