Description

  Nach der Erfindung wird das genannte       Ziel,    den eintretenden Spülstrom an der Ein  trittsseite des Zylinders entlang bis zum  Zylinderende zu führen, in einfacher     Weise     dadurch erreicht, dass die     Einlassschlitze    nach  dem den Ein- und     Auslassschlitzen    abgewen  deten Zylinderende     gerichtet    sind und dass der       Spülluftstrom    durch im spitzen Winkel zwi  schen;

      Two-stroke internal combustion engine with cross scavenging. The invention relates to a two-stroke internal combustion engine with transverse scavenging, in which the inlet and outlet slots on the cylinder circumference are opposite one another. With cross-flushing, it is very difficult to turn on the flushing flow. the inlet side up to the cylinder cover. Even if mechanical means, such as deflecting surfaces on the piston or steeply upwardly directed inlet slots, succeed in initially guiding the entering scavenging flow a little axially, the flow bends very soon after the exhaust slots because there is between the cylinder wall and the the stream form eddies that displace the stream from the cylinder wall.

   As a result, there is a gas roller in the cylinder with the cylinder cover that remains during the flushing process and makes flushing this part of the cylinder impossible.

  Attempts have already been made to axially direct the scavenging flow by means of supporting scavenging air flows which are inclined towards the inlet side of the cylinder wall; but experience has shown that when currents are merged in this way, strong eddies occur, which do not allow an orderly current flow to occur.

  According to the invention, the stated aim of guiding the incoming purge flow along the inlet side of the cylinder to the end of the cylinder is achieved in a simple manner in that the inlet slots are directed towards the cylinder end facing away from the inlet and outlet ports and that the purge air flow through at an acute angle between;

   the direction of the inlet slots and the cylinder wall on the inlet side is sucked in to subordinate secondary outlet slots on the cylinder wall.

  In a known vertical two-stroke machine with transverse scavenging, additional outlet slots are arranged via almost horizontally oriented inlet slots in order to improve the effective exhaust cross section. However, these slots are not suitable for sucking the flushing flow up to the cylinder wall, since it is led too far away from the additional outlet slots from the start and cannot be deflected by almost a right angle.

  In the drawing, the invention is shown in one embodiment, namely Fig. 1 shows the course of the flushing stream in the cylinder .einer vertical Ma machine with transverse flushing with inlet slots directed upwards in the usual manner without secondary outlet slots, while FIG a vertika len machine according to the invention illustrated.

  In Fig. 1, the obliquely upwardly directed scavenging slots are denoted by A, with B denotes the exhaust slots opposite these ge and with C the piston. The scavenging air flows through the cylinder in the direction of the arrow lines and generates the edge vortices E on the cylinder wall D and the air cylinder G on the cylinder cover F. The cylinder is therefore only partially scavenged here.

  According to FIG. 2, D secondary outlet slots H are now arranged above the upwardly directed inlet slots in the cylinder wall. As a result of this, a small amount of exhaust gases escapes as the piston retreats in the direction of the arrow and creates negative pressure points on the inlet side of the cylinder wall, which cause the flushing flow to be drawn into the cylinder wall. Edge vortices, as in the machine according to FIG. 1, cannot form at this point as a result.

   The flushing flow is sucked up to the cylinder wall through the effect of the secondary outlet slots and rises unhindered to the cover, even with long-stroke machines. This means that the cylinder is flushed out more thoroughly than was previously possible with cross-flushing.

  The secondary outlet slots $ are connected to the exhaust line. They only need to have a small cross section and do not extend beyond the outlet slots B, or only slightly. There is therefore no noticeable loss of purge air.

  In addition, as with the known additional outlet slots mentioned above, an increase in the time cross-section for the pre-puff is achieved.
