Description
Ycilahr en me Dar represent1111g of a water-insoluble azo carbon. The subject of this additional patent is a process for the preparation of a water-insoluble azo dye, which is characterized in that the nitrosodiazo compound of aniline-azo-diphenylamine is coupled with 2,3-oxynaphthoic acid-2'-naphthylamide. The action of the two components on one another can also take place in the presence of a substrate.
The nitroso dye, produced in bulk, forms a garnet-red powder and, if produced on the fiber, produces a garnet-red color which, when treated with alkaline reducing agents, turns into a black with good fastness to washing, chlorine and light.
Example: 2.88 parts by weight of aniline - azo - diphenylamine, 4.35 parts by volume of concentrated hydrochloric acid and 20 parts by volume of water are stirred while cooling with ice and dianotized by adding a concentrated solution of 1.4 parts by weight of sodium nitrite and nitrosated. The solution obtained is allowed to run into a solution of 3.13 parts by weight 2.3-oxynaphthoic acid-2'-naphthylamide, 6 parts by volume of sodium hydroxide solution 40 B6 and 100 parts by volume of water.
The garnet-red dye is filtered off with suction and washed with water. After treatment with alkaline reducing agents, for example very dilute solutions of sodium sulfite, sodium sulfite or sodium pheriylhydrazinesulfosaurem, to which a little caustic soda or soda is expediently added, the dye turns black when heated.
