Description

      Zichthoffreler    photographischer Film.         Lichthafschutzschichten    für photogra  phische     Platten;    sind seit langem bekannt, sie       bestehen    im allgemeinen aus einem     Kolloid     als     Bindemittel    und     enthalten    Farbstoffe,  welche .sich     entweder    in den photogra  phischen     Behandlungsflüssigkeiten    oder in       einem    besonderen Nachbehandlungsbade       lösen.    In neuerer Zeit ist     auch;

      versucht wor den, photographische Filme mit derartigen Schichten zu versehen. Hier besteht jedoch die Schwierigkeit, dass die Farbstoffe der Lichthofschutzschicht in den Schichtträger selbst eindringen und ihn anfärben, so dass es nicht mehr gelingt, den Film in den üblichen Entwicklungsbädern vollständig von jeder Anfärbung zu befreien.. Besonders stark macht sich dieser Nachteil bei Schichtträgern aus Nitrozellulose bemerkbar.

      Zichthoffreler photographic film. Anti-light protection layers for photographic plates; have long been known, they generally consist of a colloid as a binder and contain dyes which dissolve either in the photographic treatment liquids or in a special aftertreatment bath. In more recent times is also;

      attempts were made to provide photographic films with such layers. However, the problem here is that the dyes of the antihalation layer penetrate the substrate itself and stain it, so that it is no longer possible to completely remove any staining from the film in the usual developing baths. This disadvantage is particularly pronounced in the case of substrates Nitrocellulose noticeable.

  According to the invention, this unwanted coloring of the actual. The layer carrier is avoided by not applying the antihalation layer which stains the layer carrier directly to the layer carrier, but interposing an intermediate layer made of a substance soluble in water that does not discolour the layer carrier.

    The intermediate layer can consist of, for example, gum arabic, cherry gum, glucose, water-soluble cellulose ethers or the like.

  The actual antihalation layer, which can consist of one dye or a mixture of several dyes, with or without the addition of binders, is applied to the intermediate layer. The intermediate layer made it practically impossible to stain the substrate with the dyes of this antihalation layer.

       If a mixture of. If dyes are used, one of these dyes which does not tend to permanently color the substrate can also be incorporated into the intermediate layer, which in this case also contributes to the freedom from halation of the film.

   Example 1: On the back of a nitrocellulose film prepared in the usual way with a gelatin layer, an intermediate layer of about 2 to: 3 u thickness is made from a solution containing 200 grams of gum arabic, 100 grams of methyl blue, 5 liters of alcohol containing 5 liters of water are applied.

   After drying, an antihalation layer with a thickness of 0.5 to 1. cc made from a solution containing 500 grams of aurine and 10 liters of alcohol is applied. The so. The atrium protective layer made of two layers adheres firmly to the layer carrier and has a smooth, shiny, water-resistant surface.

   It dissolves in the usual alkaline developers in a short time, about 30 to 6: 0 seconds, without any staining of the support.

   Example 2: An intermediate layer about 2 .mu.m thick is applied to an acetyl cellulose film from a solution which contains 200 grams of glucose, 5 liters of alcohol, 5 liters of water.

   Thereupon, after drying, a light yeast protection layer from about 0.5 to 1 u thick; a solution containing 40 grams of alkali blue (color acid), 750 grams of aurine and 10 liters of alcohol. The layer dissolves in the developer in 10 to .30 seconds and leaves a completely clear film.

  The thickness of the layers can be. can of course be changed within wide limits.
