Apparatus to to be traced. There are to tracing devices which include a pad, enlarger " à block with imprint of expandable elastic material, preferably gelatin, intended to, take the imprint on a drawing that , we can produce and allowing, by pressing more or less strongly on said elastic block, to bring it by reasoning or decrease in t, its degree of expansion in a suitable shape to determine, when it is applied to the surface to providing the reproduction of the design, an enlargement or a reduction thereof.
The main part of these devices is the enlarger pad with its to imprint block. in expandable elastic material. This is generally cast -in a bucket of the same ilanipon to which it is indissolubly linked, once in place, the casting naturally prevents the immediate use of the apparatus. For continued work, it is therefore necessary to have several enlarger pads prepared in advance to avoid wasting time in the course of operations. On the other hand, we know the drawbacks caused by the casting of gelatin in these buffers.
The present invention aims to eliminate these drawbacks. Its object is a tracing device of the kind indicated, which is set up so that the enlarged stamp can cooperate alternately with an original holder and with a to </ B book holder > reproduction, this stamp having its with imprint block in expandable elastic material mounted in a frame (which can form a mold) easily removable and, therefore, exchangeable, so that the same stamp can serve to receive different blocks to em preinte.
It is therefore no longer necessary to have a reserve of enlarger pads, but it is sufficient to simply have a series of to block to imprint frames that can be used with the same buffer, saving time and material.
The appended drawing represents, to by way of example, one embodiment of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a front view, and fig. 2 a corresponding plan view; Fig. 3 is a larger scale to vertical section of the enlarger pad; Fig. 4 is a plan of it.
On a base plate A rises a vertical column B carrying in cantilever the enlarging pad D. The latter comprises (fig. 3 ) a body d capable of executing a maneuvering and descent movement when acting on a maneuver lever C. A the lower part of the buffer body d is removably attached to the frame e enclosing the block of expandable elastic material e ', preferably of gelatin. The upper part of the buffer body d carries a sleeve f serving as a guide to a buffer piece g whose head g 'rests on the block e '.
The upper part of the sleeve f is shaped as a clamp and serves for the fixing of the buffer body d to a conical part c integral with the head c 'of a carriage C' with vertical back-and-forth movement, connected to the lever C. The sleeve f presents to </ B> on the outside a thread f ' à. not quick with which engages a rotary nut h which can be turned à using a handle li'. The angular displacement of this nut is limited by adjustable stops k between which the handle li 'can move. By turning the nut h,
this is screwed onto the thread f ' and presses more or less strongly, depending on the angular travel of the nut, on pegs i integral with the buffer piece g to lower this more or less and thus press more or less strongly on the block e ', so at the bomber at the base plus or less strongly, so that if the drawing to has been imprinted by the block e 'of the buffer to the less domed state and that we then pronounce more its bending, the imprint on the block e 'is enlarged, as well as the reproduction that will be obtained subsequently of the surface to provided with the reproduction of the drawing,
whereas if the drawing to to reproduce has been imprinted by the block e' to the strongly curved state and that we then straighten this bending, the imprint on the block e 'is reduced, as is the reproduction which will be obtained subsequently on the surface to provided with the reproduction of the drawing. Moreover, this set of the enlarger pad is well known, the difference between the current pads of this oenre and that which has just been described being the easy and rapid removability and adaptation of the block holder frame e.
The taking of the drawing to to reproduce and its reproduction are obtained with using the buffer described by means of two work holders 31, N, one 11, intended to receive the work to be reproduced, the other, N, of the tiné à to receive the work on which one wants to apply the reproduction to the enlarged or reduced state. These work carriers are mounted on a movable carriage P following a guide in an arc of a circle p of the base plate A so as to be able to be brought alternately under the enlarger pad, adjustable stops o being provided to -determine the exact position of the work-holders under the buffer.
The carriage P is integral with an arm P 'threaded on a vertical axis P2, in which the center of curvature of the guide p. is located.
The work holders 31, N are à their turn adjustable on the carriage P is necessary from the point of view of their distance from one of the 'other than from the point of view of their radial position; it is not necessary to describe all these details; it will simply be said that the parte-works can be adjusted on the carriage P along an arcuate groove q of the latter by means of clamping screws q '. The taking of the impression of the design and its reproduction on another surface is carried out to using an appropriate ink or color, as is well known in this kind of reproduction work.
Instead of moving the workpieces in an arc around an axis, the work carriers could be made stationary and the enlarger pad could be moved around an axis to be brought alternately over one and the other. another of the book holders.
