Welding device for large workpieces. The invention relates to a welding device such as can mainly be used for larger workpieces. The device should make it possible, despite the large workpieces, to make round seams and seams in the horizontal and vertical directions as easily as possible. With a suitable setting it is also possible to produce seams in the form of three-dimensional curves. For this purpose, the welding device according to the invention is characterized in that it has a guide column to move the welding head in the vertical direction and an overhead crane with trolley to move it in the horizontal direction.
The drawing illustrates an exemplary embodiment of the subject invention schematically through FIGS. 1 and 2 in vertical and horizontal sections.
Only two motors are provided to drive the entire system. One of the Mo tor 1 (Fig. 2) drives the turntable 2 by means of a cable drive. The rope drive is recommended because it does not pull jerkily and enables the rope to be tensioned so tightly by means of a tensioning mechanism that a dead gear is switched off when starting up and moving on. This arrangement is necessary to prevent the arc from breaking off during welding.
The welding head 5 is attached to a guide rod 6. The guide 8 for this rod is attached to the trolley 7, which runs on a bridge crane 9. Only a single motor is provided for moving the trolley and the guide rod. In order to avoid a hard start here too, a rope drive is used for both movements. The second motor 10 works via a liq fluid transmission 11 on a countershaft 12 and from here on two opposing magnetic clutches 13 and 14. With these clutches, the pulleys 15 and 16 are connected. Another rope pulley 23 is provided on the guide rod 6 and two tensioning pulleys 17 and 18 are provided on the trolley.
The rope runs from a balance weight 21 'over the rollers 20', 19 ', and over the tensioning roller 17 and the disc 15 after the rope roll 23 and accordingly over the rollers 16, 18, 19, 20. On the rollers 19 and 19 'each has a coupling 22, one part of which is firmly connected to the traveling crane.
The upward movement of the welding head takes place, for example, by switching on the coupling 19. This holds the rope on one side of the traveling crane. At the same time, the left-handed clutch 13 is switched on. As a result, the welding head is raised and the counterweight 21 'sinks. With a corresponding switchover, the counterweight 21 can also be made to sink. The welding head can also be raised by lowering both weights.
The running of the cat is effected in that the two clutches 22 and 22 'and, depending on the intended direction of movement, the clutch 13 or 14 are switched on.
The power supply to the welding head can be done by means of sliding contacts on the guide rod. It is also advisable to switch the clutches and the motor on and off from a panel attached to the welding head.
