Description
Zusatzpatent zum Hauptpatent Nr. 158243. Verfahren zur Darstellung einer hochmolekularen Sulfosäure. Es wurde gefunden, dass man zu neuen, wasserlöslichen Kondensationsprodukten ge langen kann, wenn man feste, sauer konden sierte Kunstharze auf Formaldehydbasis einer Behandlung mit Phenol, seinen Homo logen oder Substitutionsprodukten unterwirft und die entstehende homogene Masse mit sulfonierenden Mitteln behandelt.
Vorliegende Erfindung bezieht sich nun auf ein Verfahren zur Darstellung einer hochmolekularen Sulfosäure, dadurch ge kennzeichnet, dass man ein durch Konden sation von p-Kresol und Harnstoff mit Form aldehyd unter Mitverwendung von sauren Katalysatoren erhaltenes Kunstharz in Phe nol löst und bis zur Wasserlöslichkeit mit sulfonierenden Mitteln behandelt.
Der neue Körper stellt in Form seines Alkalisalzes eine schwach gefärbte, amorphe Masse dar. Ausser als Gerbstoff kann das Produkt als Wollreservierungsmittel in der Halbwollfärberei dienen. <I>Beispiel:</I> Ein Harz, erhalten durch Kondensation von 61,5 Teilen p-Kresol, 24 Teilen Harn stoff, 80 Teilen Formaldehyd und 1-6 Teilen Schwefelsäure 4 % wird mit 105 Teilen Phe nol bei<B>70'</B> solange gerührt, bis eine homo gene Lösung des Harzes entstanden ist.
Man lässt nun zwischen 50 bis<B>90'</B> 108 Teile Schwefelsäure<B>6,6'</B> B6 zufliessen und rührt weiter, bis eine Probe im gleichen Raumteil Wasser auch in der Kälte klar löslich ist. Nach Abstumpfen der überschüssigen Säure mit Natriumkarbonat lässt sich das lösliche Harz durch Aussalzen mit Natriumchlorid oder durch Eindampfen als schwach ge färbte, amorphe Masse gewinnen; ihre Lö sungen wirken auf basische Farbstoffe stark fällend, besitzen stark leimfällende Eigen schaften und färben sich mit Ferrichlorid rotstichig blau.

- PATENTANSPRUCH: Verfahren zur Darstellung einer hoch molekularen Sulfosäure, dadurch gekenn- zeichnet, da.ss man ein durch Kondensation von p-Kresol und Harnstoff mit Formalde hyd unter Mitverwendung von sauren Kata lysatoren erhaltenes Kunstharz in Phenol löst und bis zur Wasserlöslichkeit mit sulfo nierenden Mitteln behandelt.Der neue Körper stellt in Form seines Alkalisalzes eine schwach gefärbte, amörphe Masse dar, deren wässerige Lösung stark leimfällende Eigenschaften besitzt, auf basi sche Farbstoffe stark fällend wirkt und sich mit Ferrichloricl rotstiehig blau färbt. Ausser als Gerbstoff kann das Produkt als Woll- reservierungsmittel in der Halbwollfärberei dienen.
