das ebenso wie ersteres in dem Stromkreis des Antriebsmotors geschaltet ist. Da der R.e- riulator Sorge dafür trugt. dass' die Geschwin digkeit des Films an der Tonsteuerstelle praktisch konstant ist, wird bei einer Än- clei-ung der Motorgeschwindigkeit die Film -chleife vergrössert oder verkleinert und führt letztere auf diese Weise eine langsame Be- we,@-tin,@- des Hebels, auf dem die Spannrolle ;
Apparatus for advancing an image sound film. The invention relates to a forward movement for moving an image film forward, which can be used in particular for both recording and reproduction of the image and sound recording line.
There are already devices of this type known in which the film of a single motor that is rigid. that is, without interconnection of a naeligiebigen coupling finitely coupled to the propulsion of the film in front of the transport rollers seen, it is carried out by the optical as well as by the acoustic part of the device. The optical, as well as the acoustic 'feil could, as usual, be built as special units and be ordered separately, or both units can be combined into a single device.
The direct drive has the advantage that, as far as the acoustic part is concerned, it can be easily coupled to the operating mechanism of existing image projection apparatus.
In devices of this type, the motor pulls the film one after the other by the picture and the sound window. In order to ensure that the film is always moved at a constant speed along the two windows, an electric motor is used in known designs that runs at as constant a speed as possible, for example a synchronous motor whose number of revolutions is known to be through the network frequency is conditional.
It turns out, however, that with such a drive the speed of the film, especially at the sound control point, is not constant to the desired extent. can be held, since the speed of the motor is too much influenced by the changes in the above-mentioned network size. In addition, it has been found that irregularities in the optical.
Apparatus brought about, for example, by a heavy gear, by play in the transmission, etc.; the desired degree of synchronism between picture and sound cannot always be achieved.
To partially eliminate these difficulties, it has already been proposed to keep the speed of the film constant at the sound control point by a flywheel mass driven by the film.
Although this respectively the conditions for a perfect sound recording. Playback was taken into account to a certain extent, this arrangement could not sufficiently ensure that the constancy of the speed of the film at the sound control point and the syncronism between image and sound are guaranteed when the driving force of the driving motor is increased or decreased .
This is due to the fact that a large centrifugal mass, such as a flywheel, is able to compensate for small fluctuations in the driving force, but also changes its speed when the driving force of the driving motor varies.
In the device according to the invention, the speed of the film at the sound control point is kept constant by a controller with a certain speed - braking characteristic and the speed of the single motor, rigidly coupled to the transport roller, which rolls the film in a known manner through both the Moves the optical and the acoustic part of the device through it,
regulated according to the asynchronism between image and sound. On the one hand, it can thereby be achieved that the speed of the film remains constant at the sound control point, which enables perfect sound recording or playback. On the other hand, the motor speed is regulated without this regulation influencing the constant speed of the film at the sound control point (so that a controlled variable promoting synchronism can be derived from this point)
The desired degree of synchronicity between image and sound is guaranteed practically under almost all circumstances that apply in the sound film business. To achieve a compact construction of the device, the control device for the Mo tor is expediently placed in the acoustic part, although this is generally not necessary.
In one embodiment of the device, a centrifugal regulator that maintains constant the film speed at the sound control point is arranged in front of the sound window and is coupled to a roller driven by the film itself.
In addition, a loop is formed behind the sound window in the film, which is stretched by a roller under the action of a spring and, as described below, is used to regulate the motor speed. The expressions in front of and behind the sound window are to be understood in relation to the direction of movement of the film. If necessary, the regulator can also be placed behind the sound window and in front of the film loop.
However, it is expediently arranged in front of the window, since in this case it can simultaneously serve to keep the pressure of the film against the guide at the playback point constant, in order to reduce the pressure existing in the optical apparatus as a result of the intermittent movement of the film Record fluctuations before the film passes the sound window.
Electrical controls have already become known, in which a film loop held constantly taut by a resilient roller is used to drive the motor to control the speed of a film. In dargestell th embodiment of the invention, such a scheme is now used for the film both by the image and the sound apparatus driving motor. A number of disadvantages are thereby eliminated.
An extremely reliable regulation of the motor speed is achieved in the illustrated example in that the above-mentioned tensioning pulley acts on a subheder; and according to the asynchronism between image and sound movable lever is arranged, which is provided with a 1ioiiicilz-tstiick, which is set in periodic oscillations by any wave of the device in two part contact piece. cooperates,
which, like the former, is connected in the circuit of the drive motor. Because the regulator takes care of it. that the speed of the film at the sound control point is practically constant, if the motor speed changes, the film loop is increased or decreased and the latter thus leads a slow movement Lever on which the tensioner pulley;
is arranged, which has the consequence that the duration of the contact between the two contact organs. which are switched on in a manner known per se in the electric circuit of the motor and intermittently short-circuit a resistor located in this circuit, changing them and consequently regulating the motor freedom in such a way that the regulator does not have any effect due to the changes in speed is disturbed.
The periodically oscillating movement read by a contact element can be achieved, for example, by an eccentric that is attached to the iegulator shaft. This movement 1, i-aliclit not to be derived from the regulator wave in principle. This is. However, it is recommended if you are trying to make the whole control device as compact as possible. To give construction.
It has already been suggested, in order to comply with the syilehronism between image and sound, to use contact pieces which vibrate periodically in relation to one another.
In the device shown, this principle is used in an analogous form to the motor, which is rigidly coupled to the transport rollers and moves the film through both the optical part and the acoustic part of the device, according to the asynchronism between Control picture and sound.
The accompanying drawing illustrates an embodiment of the subject invention by Figure 1 in a schematic diagrammatic representation; FIG. 2 is a schematic individual illustration of the control mechanism for the motor of the device according to FIG.
In Fig. 1, 1 denotes the film, which is fully unwound from a driven roller 2 from a ratstrommel before 3, guided over an all-driven roller 4. and wound on a drum 5. The rollers 4 and 4 belong to a projection apparatus 6. The film section lying between the rollers has a loop which is accommodated in the acoustic part which is built as a special unit 7. In the figure it is shown that the part 7 is combined with the projection apparatus 6 into a whole. However, it is also possible to arrange both devices separately from one another. In this way, it is possible to couple the acoustic part without changing the existing optical equipment.
To drive the film there is a ziger electric motor 8, the shaft 9 of which is coupled to a shaft 12 via bevel gears 10 and 11. The shaft 1,2 drives via bevel gears 13, 14 and 1.5, 1 E; the waves 17 respectively. 18 for the roles 2 respectively. H. From the shaft 17 in the usual manner, not shown, the intermittent movement of the film Be passed from the picture window.
Fig. 2 shows how the speed of the motor 8 can be regulated if it deviates completely from the desired level.
After the film the role? has happened, it is pulled past the picture window 19, for example by the roller 20, which is driven by the said Maltese cross gear; it then passes two rollers 21 and 2.2, which serve to flatten the jerky forward movement of the film brought about as a result of the stepwise drive.
This is important since it is known that it is desirable to continuously advance the film in the acoustic part 7. The film also passes through two rollers 23 and 2i4. From the shaft 25 of the roller 24, the shaft 28 of a centrifugal regulator is driven via a gear transmission 26, 27.
The regulator is provided in the usual way with a brake disc 3'.0 'which, in different positions, of the Ge weights 31 rests against a stationary brake shoe 32 with different pressures.
After the film has passed the rollers 2: 3 and 24, it is guided over a curved guide track 3, 3, which has an opening 34 at the point of the sound strip on the film, through which the light from a light source 35 is transmitted in the usual way a lens 36 falls on a photoelectric cell 37, with the help of which the acoustic Aufzeichnun conditions present on your film can be converted into electrical currents. For the sake of clarity, the light source and the photocell are not, as is actually the case, surrounded by a housing.
After the guide track 33, the film passes two guide rollers 38 and 39, the latter of which is arranged in such a way that the loop 40 attached at this point in the film is always kept under the same tension. After passing the driven roller 4, the film is finally wound onto the drum 5.
The tension roller 39 is arranged on a lever 42 rotatable about the axis 41, which by means of a helical spring 44 firmly clamped at 43 at one end and attached to the lever at the other end ensures that the required tension is present in the loop 40 . A pin 45 is also attached to the lever 42 and carries a contact member 47 at the free end 46. On the shaft 28 of the regulator, a disc 48 is eccentrically attached which, when rotating, sets a pin 49 carrying a contact pin 50, which is displaceable in the direction of its longitudinal axis, in constant rapid oscillation.
Both con tact organs are verbun through conductors 51 and 5 2 with the circuit of the drive motor, which in the present case is an alternating current series motor, and a resistor 53 (Fig. 1) lying in this old is short-circuited by them intermittently.
The motor speed is now influenced as follows; Thanks to the regulator, the film has a constant speed at the sound control point. If, for some reason, the speed of the motor changes, the length of the film loop behind the guide 38 receives an opportunity to increase or decrease as a result of the constant drive through the Regailator.
Lever 4:? with the contact element 4 7 connected to it is shifted as a result, with the result that the duration of contact between the two contact elements 47 and 50 is changed. The duration of the short-circuit of the resistor changes accordingly and the speed of the camera is changed. It can be seen that in this way the speed of the film at the sound control point remains constant and that the changes in speed of the other film parts are compensated as far as possible by the regulations described.
It is true that the speed of the film in the image window will fluctuate somewhat as a result. However, these fluctuations are so small that they are imperceptible to the eye.
Another advantage of the device described is that a controllable AC series motor is sufficient for the drive. The use of a single-phase or three-phase synchronous motor, the cost of which is much higher than that of the series motor mentioned earlier, is therefore unnecessary.
The control device described also has such a compact construction that it can easily be arranged together with the acoustic part of the device, which may also include an amplifier, as an attachment to existing optical film apparatus, if this is for recording or Playback of sound films need to be set up.
