Description
Process for the preparation of an ilonoazo dye. It has been found that valuable red monoazo dyes are obtained if the diazo compounds of the bases of the general formula
EMI0001.0007
where R1 is an alkyl, aralkyl or hydroaromatic radical, R2 is an alkyl, aryl, aralkyl or hydroaromatic radical, with such 1- (2 '.
3'-Oxynaphthoylamino) -4-methoxybenzenes which are still substituted by a methyl group in the o- or m-position to the methoxy group, the diazo components not containing any solubilizing groups, for example sulfonic acid or carboxyl groups .
The dyes can be produced in a known manner on the fiber, in bulk or on a substrate and, in addition to being very lively, are distinguished by very good fastness properties.
The subject of the present patent is a process for the production of a mono azofa dye, which is characterized in that the diazo compound of 2-amino-toluene-4-sulfonic acid dimethyl amide with 1- (2 '. 3'-oxynaphthoylamino ) -2-methyl-4-methoxy-benzene couples. The two components can also act on one another in the presence of a substrate.
The dyestuff produced in bulk forms a red powder that dissolves in concentrated sulfuric acid with a red-violet color and, if produced on the fiber, delivers a vivid yellowish red of very good fastness to washing, chlorine and caustic solutions and very good lightfastness.
Example 10.7 g of 2-aminotoluene-4-sulfonic acid dimethylamide are diazotized in the usual way. The diazo solution mixed with sodium acetate to bind the excess hydrochloric acid is then stirred into a solution of 15.35 grams of 1- (2 ', 3'-ogynaphthoylamino) -2-methyl-4-methoxy-benzene in dilute sodium hydroxide solution one. The precipitated dye is filtered off, washed well and dried.
It is a red powder that dissolves in concentrated sulfuric acid with a red-violet color. The lacquers produced in the usual way are completely oily and deliver lightfast red tones.
The coupling can also be carried out in the presence of a substrate suitable for displaying color lacquer. In particular, the dyes are also suitable for coloring rubber goods, as they are vulcanization-resistant.
