Description

  

  Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Gemisches von     a-Naphthol    und     a-Oxynaphthoesäure     aus     a-Halogennaphthalin.       Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft die Her  stellung eines Gemisches von     a-Naphthol    und       a-Oxynaphthoesäure    durch Behandlung von       a-Halogennaphtbalin    unter erhöhten Drucken  und Temperaturen mit einem basischen Mit  tel bei Gegenwart von Kohlensäure.  



  Eingehende Untersuchungen haben näm  lich gezeigt, dass man bei der Behandlung  von     a-Halogennaphthalin    mit basischen Mit  teln, wie z. B. Natrium- oder     Kaliumphos-          phat    oder -borgt, unter erhöhtem Druck und  bei erhöhter Temperatur bei Gegenwart von  Kohlensäure unmittelbar     a-Oxy        naphthoesäure     in beträchtlicher Menge neben     a-Naphthol     gewinnt.

      Verwendet man als basisches Mittel ein       Carbonat    oder     Biearbonat,    so kann die bei  der Reaktion sich abspaltende Kohlensäure  gleichzeitig zur Überführung des gebildeten       a-Naphthols    in     a-Oxynaphthoesäure    dienen.

      <I>Beispiel</I>     .T     415     gr        a-Bromnaphtbalin    mit einer wäs  serigen Lösung von 325     gr    Soda auf etwa  <B>3000</B> unter einem Druck von 150     Atm.    er  hitzt, liefern ausser     a-Naphthol    und     a-Naph-          thyläther    40     gr        a-Naphtholcarborisäure    vom  F. P. 188/192<B>0</B>.  



  <I>Beispiel 2:</I>  325     gr        a-Chlornaphthalin    mit einer wässe  rigen Lösung von 370     gr        Natriumbicarbonat     auf etwa 310   unter einem Druck von etwa  160     Atm.    erhitzt,. ergeben ausser     a-Naphthol     und     dsm    entsprechenden     Naphthyläther     etwa 40     gr        a-Naphtholearbonsäure    vom F. P.       188/1920.

      <I> Example </I> .T 415 gr a-bromonaphtbalin with an aqueous solution of 325 gr soda to about <B> 3000 </B> under a pressure of 150 atm. it heats up, in addition to a-naphthol and a-naphthyl ether, 40 grams of a-naphtholcarboric acid from F.P. 188/192 <B> 0 </B>.



  <I> Example 2: </I> 325 gr a-chloronaphthalene with an aqueous solution of 370 gr sodium bicarbonate to about 310 under a pressure of about 160 atm. heated,. result in addition to a-naphthol and dsm corresponding naphthyl ether about 40 grams of a-naphtholearboxylic acid from F.P. 188/1920.

PATENTANSPRUCH: Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Gemisches von a-Naphthol und a-Oxynaphthoesäure aus a-Halogennaphthalin, dadurch gekennzeichnet; dass man das a-Halogennaphthalin unter er höhtem Druck und erhöhter Temperatur mit einem basischen Mittel in Gegenwart von Kohlensäure behandelt. <B>UNTERANSPRÜCHE:</B> 1. Verfahren nach Patentanspruch, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man als basisches Mittel ein Carbonat und als Kohlensäure diejenige verwendet, die sich bei der Re aktion aus dem Carbonat abspaltet. 2.
