Mechanischer Kalender.

März an.
Mai an.
Mechanical calendar. The invention relates to a mechanical rule calendar with suspension means for the names of the days of the week, the numbers of the days, the names of the months and the years. The suspension elements are moved by a gear under the influence of periodic impulses from the outside.
According to the invention, the mechanical calendar has movable support means for the names of the days of the week, the numbers of the day, the names of the months and the years, which support means are all driven by a mechanism under the influence of external impulses, and the support means are for the numbers of the day depending on a differential gear, -which interacts with a day switch mechanism and a month switch mechanism in such a way that the differential gear at the beginning of each month that has less than 31 days,
is set in a position which corresponds to the number of days of this month, and is locked in this position during the month and triggered at the end of the month. In this way, the number of days to be carried can be added as many days as the month is shorter than 31 days.
In the drawing, an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown, namely: FIG. 1 is a front view of the calendar, FIG. 2 is a side view of the same from the left side of the pig. 1, FIG. 3 is a view of the calendar from the front, FIG. 4 is a horizontal section of the calendar, FIGS. 5 and 6 are cross-sections along the lines A-A and B-B of FIG.

The date roller and its drive are housed in a housing (Fig. 1) which is provided with an opening for observing the Stel lungs of the date roller. In a frame 1 (Fig. 3 to 6), a longitudinal shaft 2 is mounted on which all the drums and ratchet wheels are arranged one behind the other.
On the left end of the shaft (Fig. 4) the rotor 3. of a rotating magnet is keyed, which receives electrical impulses from an external power source, for example from a central power source, which is common to several calendars and which drives shaft 2 with each impulse can rotate by% of a full revolution (counterclockwise according to FIG. 5, clockwise rotation according to FIG. 6).
In the middle of the shaft 21 is the drum 4, which shows the single numbers of the date day number (day number drum), the hub of which forms a sleeve 4 'surrounding the shaft and runs along the entire date cylinder from left to right (Fig. 4). At the left end of the date roller is a switching wheel 5 (Fig. 5, 7 and 8), at the right end the sun wheel 6 (F'ig. 12, 14 and 15) of a planetary gear with the sleeve 4 'firmly connected.
A sleeve 7 'is mounted on the sleeve 4' of the drum 4, which carries the drum 7 (daily ten drum) (Fig. 4, 8 and 9) with the ratchet wheel 8, which is to the left of the date roller ( 4, 7 and 8), connects. On the sleeve 7 'of the drum 7 is the drum 9 bearing the day names (FIGS. 4 and 8), on the circumference of which a ratchet wheel 10 is formed at the left end (FIGS. 4, 5, 7 and 8).
To the right of the daily number drum (Fig. 4), the month's name drum 11 is mounted on the sleeve 4 ', the hub of which has a sleeve-like extension 11', by means of which the month's name drum is rigidly connected to the ratchet wheel 12, which is to the right of the row of drums . To the right of the month drum are on the sleeve-like extension 11 ', the drums 13, 14 and 15 for the hundreds, tens and one of the year are arranged.
The year counting drum 15 is on the right and is formed on its hub to form a gear wheel 16 (FIGS. 4, 13, 15 and 17).
The gear 6 meshes with the planet gear 17 (FIGS. 14 and 15), which is mounted on a switching sector 18 (FIGS. 4, 6, 12 and 15). This is in turn mounted on shaft 2. The planet gear 17 is in engagement with the internal teeth of the register wheel 19 (Fig. 12, 13 and 15), the wheel 12 is mounted on the sleeve 4 'of the day drum 4 between the gear 6 and the switching.
In parallel with the shaft 2 and above the row of drums, a rod 2: 0 is fixed in the frame, on which a sleeve 21 is ge superimposed. At the right end (FIG. 4) this carries a control pawl 2, 2 (FIGS. 4, 6, 12, 13, 18 to 2.5), which can fall into a detent 45 on the circumference of the register wheel 19.
The control pawl 22 receives its movement by means of the sleeve 2'1 from the lever 24 (FIG. 7), which is connected by two pins 25, 2, 6 of the indexing wheel 8, which is connected to the daily number drum 7 (FIGS. 7 and 7) 8) to be driven.
Apart from the control pawl 22, the pawl 27 (FIGS. 6, 12, 13, 18 to 25) also works together with the switching sector 18. which pawl is rotatably attached to the outer end of the radial arm 28 wedged onto the shaft 2. The switching sector 18 can also be influenced by a pawl 29 which is stored on a frame de ge. This is connected to an arm 30, which is driven by pins 31 on the Mo natsnamenschaltrad 12.
To the left of the date roller (Fig. 4) is a radial arm 3, 3, (Fig. 5 and 7) on the shaft 2, which is provided with two movable pawls 34, 35 on its outer end , of which the upper one, 34, can influence the ratchet wheel 10 of the day's name drum, while the lower one, 35, can influence the ratchet wheels 5 and 8 of the two day number drums.
The day number drum as well as the names of the days of the week, the month names and the year numbers display the drums are assigned snap springs 39, which are attached to the frame and to hold the drums in certain positions.
For the description of the working method it is assumed that the device is set to one of the first days of a month with 31 days, for example for the 3rd month of January, and that the magnet with the rotor 3 is connected to a central clock that generates an impulse every 24 Hours (at 12 p.m.).
When such a pulse is received, the rotor 3 of the drive magnet rotates the shaft 2 by 1 / -; counterclockwise rotation with reference to FIGS. 5 and 7, arm 33- rotates through the same angle. The shaft 2 together with the arm 33 is then rotated back through the same angle by a spring (not shown).
In this reverse rotation, the pawl 34 switches the ratchet wheel 10 by <B> '/, </B> one rotation, while the pawl <B> 35 </B> switches the ratchet wheel 5 only by 1/10 of a turn corresponding to the Shape of its scope. By moving the indexing wheel 10, the day name drum 9 is rotated so that a new day name appears in the opening of the housing.
When the ratchet wheel 5 is rotated above, the single-number drum 4 is rotated by one number. and at the same time the gear 6 (FIGS. 14 and 15) is rotated by 1 / 1a of a revolution. The latter rotation is transmitted to the register wheel 19 by means of the planet gear 17. When the next following impulses are recorded, the movements described are repeated until the unit number 9 of the day number has appeared.
After the swing arm 33 has his next pulse, the pawl 35 switches the day counting drum 4 from the position "9" to the position "0" while the arm is being turned back. At the same time, the decimal drum 7 and thus also the indexing wheel 8 are rotated from the "0" position to the "1" position by means of the clutch shown in FIGS.
A pin 36 is arranged radially in the daily drum 4, which can be pressed towards the center against the action of a leaf spring 37 by such a large amount that the pin 36 can enter a rest of the daily drum 7 ( Fig. 10 <B>) </B>. This happens when the outer end of the pin 36 goes past the snap spring 38, which is fastened in the frame. The pin 36 then takes the date ten drum with it by 1/10 of a revolution.
At the end of this rotation, the drum 7 receives another pulse in the same direction because a snap spring 39 attached to the frame presses against the circumference of the octagonal drum 7, so that the drum 7 makes a total of% rotation instead of 1 / 1o rotation. The execution of this additional rotation is made possible by the pen held after yielding. When receiving the following pulses, the date roller shows the numbers 11 to 30 including and the corresponding names of the days of the week.
When the day number 30 is displayed, the indexing wheels 5 and 8 of the day number drum and the day number drum of ten assume the mutual positions shown in FIG. 7a.
As I said and shown in Fig. 10 and 1.1, the day number ten drum is octagonal. Their prismatic surfaces are assigned the numbers 1, 2 and 3 one after the other, followed by an empty surface, and the drum makes one revolution in two months. The empty space appears for the day numbers 1 to 9, the number 1 for the day numbers 10 to 19, the number 2 for the day numbers 2.0 to 29, and the number 3 for the day numbers 30 and 31.
When the next pulse is received and the next partial revolution of the shaft 2, the switching from the day number '30 to 31 (Fig. 7 and 7a) is activated in the following way: When the arm 33 moves backwards (in the direction of the Clockwise with reference to FIGS. 7 and 7a) the pawl 35 would advance both the ratchet wheel 8 and the ratchet wheel 5, if this advance with respect to the ratchet wheel 8 were not prevented by a pin 40 on the side of the wheel 5 near the Scope and is attached immediately next to the tooth 41 for the day number 1.
This tooth is higher than the other teeth in the same wheel 5 and also protrudes over the two teeth 43 in it. Zehnerrad 8 also, that is, the tips of the latter are at a smaller distance from the axis of rotation than the tip of the tooth 41.
By the action of the pin 40, the pawl 35 is brewed during its backward movement in such a position that its end goes over the tooth 43 of the tens wheel, but men interact with the tooth 41 of the unicorn 5; the wheel 5 is then connected upstream in the position shown in FIG. If the switching takes place from the day number 10 to the day number 11 or from the day number 2.0 to the day number 21, the teeth 43 of the tens wheel are out of range with respect to the pawl 315.
The latter will then only switch the Einerrad. When receiving a pulse for switching from the day number 31 to the day number 1 of the next month (Fig. 7b), the pawl 35 moves during the backward movement of the shaft 2 only the tens wheel 8 forward because the tooth 44 for the day number 2 of the unicorn is lower than the point of application of the pawl on the tooth 43 of the tens wheel and also the circumference of the unicear 5 between the teeth 41 and 44 for the day numbers 1 and 2 is slightly lower (has a shorter radius)
than said point of attack (Fig. 7a). The tens drum 7 is then rotated and an empty area on the tens drum becomes visible in the opening. The number 1 of the date remains. This position is shown in Fig. 7c. The arm 42 of the pawl 35 engages below the pin 40.
The drive for the month name drum 11 and its ratchet wheel 12 is explained with reference to FIGS. 12 and 13 and the schematic FIGS. 18 to 25. When switching to a new month, shaft 2 is rotated as before. namely 1/7 turn (in the clockwise direction according to Fig. 12). The pawl 27 of the arm 28 then switches the ratchet 12 forward by one step. The wheel 12 is provided with twelve circumferential notches and is therefore only switched by 1 / 1Z rotation.
Corresponding to the difference of 1 /., And 1/12. To rotation, the pawl 27 slides at the beginning of its movement on the outer side of the pawl 22, only to then intervene in a detent of the wheel 12. The switching pawl 27 can, however, only enter the latch when the control pawl 22 falls into the groove 45 of the register wheel 19. The notches on the circumference of the wheel 12 are differently deep, which depends on whether the corresponding month 28 has 30 or 31 days. The depth of the notches 46 (for 31 days) is one unit.
Then the notches 47 (for 30 days) have a depth of two units and the notch 48 (for 28 days) a depth of four units. On the circumference of the switching sector 18 there are three notches 49, 50, 51 whose distance from the center corresponds to the corresponding notches in the wheel 12 as follows: The bottom of the notch 19 has the same. Distance from the center point as the bottom of the catch 47. The bottom of the catch 50 is slightly further from the center point than the bottom of the catch 48. The bottom 50 corresponds to the leap day, as will be described in more detail below.
The bottom of the catch 51 is placed at the same distance from the center as the bottom of the catch 48 (corresponding to the month of February in a usual year, that is, in a year that is not a leap year). The notches 46 lie so far from the center that their Bö lie outside the part of the circumference of the sector, which is designated by the number 52 (Fig. 12).
When the shifting takes place from the position shown in FIG. 12 (January 31 in an ordinary year), the control pawl 22 is in engagement with the detent 45, and the switching pawl 27 is in the detent 48 and also in the detent 51. The wheel 12 is thereby switched by 1/12 turn ge. At the same time, the switching sector 18 is connected upstream at such an angle that it can upstream the register wheel 19 by 3 / 3o of a rotation.
This is caused by the planet gear 17, which rolls on the sun gear 6, which has the same radius and the same number of teeth as the wheel 1.7, which engages in the teeth of the register wheel 19; this has a three times larger radius and three times as many teeth as the wheel 17 (Fig. 18). The switching back of the sector 18 to its initial position is prevented by the resilient pawl 29. The wheel 6 is locked by the pawl 53 (FIG. 7), which interacts with the wheel 5 connected to the single drum 4.
The month drum now shows the month of February in the opening of the calendar housing, but the day drum still shows the number 31. When shaft 2 moves backwards, the drum of the daily ten is rotated as described above and the tens digit \ 3 'disappears.
At the same time, the arm 24 is lifted by the pin 25 of the ratchet 8, the sleeve 2.1 is then rotated counterclockwise (FIG. 18) and the control pawl 212 is lifted so that the latter lifts the pawl 27 so high that in the following pulses the latter does not reach any of the notches in the wheel 12 and in the sector 18. For the following dates in the same month, only the day name drum and the day number drum are moved.
When switching from the day number 9 to the day number 10, the pin 25 on the ratchet 8 releases the arm 24 (FIG. 7) again. The control pawl 2-2 then lowers until it is stopped on the circumference of the register wheel 19 along which it slides during its daily rotation. The switching pawl 27 is consequently held idle. Since the center wheel 6 of the planetary gear is rigidly connected to the drum 4, the wheel 6 is switched by 1 / 1o revolution every 24 hours.
As mentioned before, the gear ratio of the planetary gear is 1 <B>: 3, </B> and the register wheel .19 therefore makes 1 / 3o rotation every 2.4 hours. Since the register wheel 3 / 3p of a turn was reserved when the date was switched to February 1st, 2.7 days are required for the detent 45 to get back under the end of the control pawl 2.2. The calendar then shows the 2.8. February (Fig. 20). The control pawl 22 now falls into the detent 45 under the action of the spring 53 '(Fig. 12).
When the next pulse is received, the pawl 27 falls into the detent 46 assigned to the month of March and switches the month drum by 1/12 of a revolution, so that the name of the month of March appears in the opening. During this movement, one of the pins 31 on the inside of the ratchet wheel 12 (FIG. 21) lifts the arm 30, which is rigidly connected to the pawl 29, so that it releases the sector 18. The sector then returns to the initial position shown in FIG. 12 under the action of the spring 55 (FIG. 6).
Since the control pawl 22 is still in engagement with the detent 46, the register wheel 19 is locked against counterclockwise movement. Therefore, the planet wheel 17 rolls on the wheel 19 and drives the wheel 6 to @jla one turn counterclockwise (Fig. 2,0).
The . The single drum is switched by three days (from the number 8 to the number 1 in the opening). Simultaneously with this, the ten-drum by means of the clutch described above be (Fig. 9 to 11) from the position which indicates the number 2, in the position which indicates the number 3, moved before.
The day number drums now show the date number 31, and the designation March appears in the opening, the arm 28 is in its upstream position (in the right position according to FIGS. 18 to 25).
When the arm 28 is switched back counterclockwise when the pulse stops, the number of tens 3 disappears, and the control pawl 2 $ is raised in the manner described above, whereupon the parts assume the positions shown in FIG. The date roller now shows March 1st.
During the month of March, the day name drum and the day number drum are switched up in the manner described above, and the control pawl 22 holds the switching pawl 27 out of the notches of the month switching wheel 12. Since on March 1st, the notch 45 is below the end of the control pawl 22 was set and the wheel 19 is rotated by '/ ", revolution in 24 hours, the detent 45 arrives at 3: 1.
March again immediately below the end of the control pawl, which then falls into the detent 45 so that 'the month drum can be switched to show a new month. The pawl 27 then falls into a detent 47 in the ratchet wheel 12 and in notch 49 in sector 1 & - both notches have the same depth - and turns the wheel together with the sector in the clockwise direction. In this case, the sector 18 is only switched so far that the register wheel 19 is caused to rotate 1 / a0 by means of the planetary gear.
The sector is locked in this position by means of the pawl 2: 9, the parts then take the position shown in FIG. 22. The date roller now shows April 1st.
During the month of April, the day name drum and the day time drum are connected upstream as described above. When the day number 30 in the opening he appeared, the latch 45 is set again un indirectly under the end of the control pawl 22 so that the latter falls into the latch. When the next pulse is received, the pawl 2: 7 falls into a groove 46 and switches the month switching wheel 12 so that the month of May appears in the opening of the housing.
A pin 31 on the wheel 12 lifts the pawl 29 out of engagement with the sector 18 by means of the arm 30. The sector 18 then returns to its initial position, and by means of a planetary gear makes the gear 6 together with the drum 4 '/ "o rotation so that the date number 31 appears in the opening.
During the return movement of the arm 28, the tens drum is switched from position 3 to a position in which an empty area appears, and at the same time the control pawl 22 is raised. The date roller now shows May 1st.
At the moment of switching from the month of December to the month of January, that is to say to a new year, the month switching wheel 12 has turned so far counterclockwise according to FIG. 16 that the gear 55 'of the pin 56, which is in the The frame is fastened, touched and turned in the direction of the clock pointer by 1 /., Rotation. As a result, the gear 57, which sits on the same shaft as the wheel 55 'and is firmly connected to this, rotates; the wheel 5,7 switches the gear 16, which is rigidly verbun with the Jahreszahleinertrommel 15, so that the drum makes' / 1a revolution. Now the new year appears.
On the same shaft as the gears 55 'and 57 and with: these connected is a cam gear 59 of such a shape that' / 4 of its circumference has a larger radius than the remaining part, so that a curve surface 60 is formed. The deeper part of the circumference of the cam extends almost to the. Bottom of the detent 48. With each quarterly switching, the curved surface 60 covers part of the detent 48 in the radial direction. The whole group of wheels <B> 555 ', </B> 57 and 59 is held in the respective set position by a snap spring 61 which is attached to the ratchet wheel 12 and lies in two teeth of the wheel 55'.
During a leap year, the cam surface 60 covers part of the detent 48 (the driving detent for the month of February), so that when the month name drum is switched to the February position, the pawl 2.7 is prevented by the cam surface <B> 60 </B> to reach the bottom of notch 48 and it falls into notch 50 in sector 18 (Fig. 24) instead of notch 51 as in the ordinary years.
The wheel 19 is then switched by 2 / go of a revolution instead of '/ $ o, and the monthly gearbox is only triggered after the date number 29 has appeared in the opening (Fig. 25). If it is switched to the month of March, the sector 18 has to cover a distance that is 1 / g shorter when returning to its starting position, and as a result, the sector drives the wheel 6 by means of the planetary gear only 1/3 of its normal movement Year.
The date number is therefore switched by two days instead of three days, and consequently also to the number 31. The same process then takes place as during an ordinary year.
The switching of the tens and hundreds units of the year is carried out in an analogous manner to the switching of the daily ten drum and the adjacent daily drum, but the drums that display the number of the year are designed as a decagon.
From the foregoing it is clear that there is a mutual effect between the switch on the date changing wheels 5 and 8 and the switch of the register wheel 19, which bil det the outer wheel in the planetary gear.
The date changing wheels 5, 8 and the register wheel are locked against rotation in opposite directions, so that a movement of the sector 18 in one direction an advance of the register wheel 19, and a movement of the sector 18 in the other direction an advance of the date wheels causes.
If a month with 31 days is to be switched off from a month with a lower number of days, then the day number drums are switched twice, first during the switching movement of the arm 28 by means of the planetary gear, the day number drum is then switched from 8 or 9 or 0 to 1 upstream, secondly during the backward movement of the arm 2 $,
the daily number ten drum is then switched forward by one step, namely from 3rd to 0, while the single drum remains at 1. On all the other days, the day number drums are only driven when the arm 28 moves backwards.
The design of the device is based on the assumption that a month with less than 31 days is preceded and followed by a month with 31 days, which means that two short months do not follow one another. This is the case with the Gregorian and Julian calendars.
The circulating magnet for rotating the shaft 2 does not form an essential element of the invention and can be replaced by any other electrical or mechanical element that shares the shaft 2 with an angular momentum of '/ z rotation against the action of a return spring.
