Description

Packaging box with overlapping flaps. The present invention relates to a packaging box with mutually engaging closure flaps.

The previously known boxes of this type did not meet the requirements placed on them in practice in terms of closing. Up until now, the box was closed either by lacing the box crosswise with a split or doing the same, or the butt joints of the closure flaps were glued with adhesive strips. These types of closure were inadequate, as the adhesive strips could come off or tear, while the crosswise lacing meant a weakening of the box edges.

Another disadvantage of the known arrangements was that they did not prevent the closure tabs from sliding on top of one another when the box was subjected to diagonal stress.

These disadvantages are eliminated according to the invention in that the webs of the fastening brackets attached to the inner closure flap are inserted through holes in the outer, overlapping closure flaps for this purpose, and that the strap webs only slightly protrude from the closure flaps to close the packaging box serving and looped around this strap is pulled through.

In the accompanying drawing, the subject of the invention is shown by way of example. 1 shows the fastening bracket for itself before it is inserted into the inner closure flap in a perspective view; Fig. 2 is a perspective view of a.

Part of the inner flap in which the bracket is used; Fig. 3 shows a part of the inner closure flap with inserted bracket in a perspective view, while Fig. 4 shows a longitudinal section through the superimposed closure tabs with the locking bracket passed through and secured. Finally, FIG. 6 illustrates a box designed according to the invention in the closed state.

In the figures, a denotes the locking bracket made of thin steel band, which is U-shaped in its central part and has lateral flaps, the ends of which c are directed upwards. The middle U-shaped part of the bracket a is passed through a suitable opening in the inner closure flap b of the box from below, while at the same time the flaps c pass through corresponding lateral slits. The ends of the tabs c, as can be seen from FIGS. 3 and 4, are then crimped on the upper side of the inner closure tab so that the bracket a is inseparably connected to the tab b of the box.

The width of the U-shaped part of the bracket a corresponds to an opening provided in the outer closure flap d, so that when closing the box parts it is possible without difficulty to bring the outer closure flap over the U-shaped part of the bracket a.

Since the height of the bracket a is not significantly greater than the cardboard thickness of the tabs b and ei (Fig. 4), when the tabs b, d lie on top of one another, only a relatively small part of the U- shaped bracket; which, however, is just enough to pull an iron band e between the outer locking flap and the U-shaped part of the bracket. The steel band e is of course through all in one level on the upper or. Underside of the box lying bracket (Fig. 5) passed.

The band iron ends are finally in a suitable manner, e.g. B. by a seal, connected to each other, whereupon on the one hand the box is completely tied and on the other hand a solution of the closure flap of the box from the bracket (a) is made impossible.
