Description

  

  Verfahren zur Herstellung eines gerbend wirkenden Stoffes.    In dem Patent Nr. 179459 ist ein Ver  fahren zur Herstellung eines gerbend wirken  den Stoffes beschrieben, bei dem man die  durch     Sulfonierung    von     Rohkresol    erhältliche       Kresolsulfonsäure,    Ammoniak und Formal  dehyd in Gegenwart     stickstofffreier    alkalischer  Mittel aufeinander einwirken lässt.  



  Es wurde nun gefunden, dass man auch  einen sehr wertvollen Gerbstoff erhält, wenn  man bei dem Verfahren des Hauptpatentes  an Stelle der dort genannten     Kresolsulfon-          säure    die durch Einwirkung von     Alkalisulfit     und Formaldehyd auf     4,4'-Dioxydiphenylsul-          fon    erhältliche     Methylensulfonsäure    des     4,4'-          Dioxydiphenylsulfons    verwendet.  



  Die Herstellung     dieses    Gerbstoffes ge  schieht praktisch entsprechend den Angaben  des Hauptpatentes. Man kann auch hier  zuerst Ammoniak und Formaldehyd zu     Hexa-          methylentetramin    umsetzen und letzteres auf  die     Oxysulfonsäure    zur Einwirkung bringen:  Desgleichen kann man hier auch Formal-         dehyd    verwenden, der aus Formaldehyd lie  fernden Stoffen während der Reaktion selbst  erhalten wird, z.

   B. aus     Formaldehydbisulfit.     <I>Beispiel:</I>  In eine Lösung, die man durch Einwir  kung von     Natriumsulfit    und 30     o/oigem    For  maldehyd auf 300 Teile     4,4'-Dioxydiphenyl-          sulfon    erhält und die in der Hauptsache .aus  einer alkalischen Lösung der     Methylensulfon-          säure    des     Dioxydiphenylsulfons    und über  schüssigem, nicht umgesetztem     Natriumsulfit     besteht, trägt man 85 Teile 30     %igen    For  maldehyd und 40 Teile 25     o/oiges    Ammoniak  ein.

   Das Reaktionsgemisch wird 24 Stunden  lang am     Rückflusskühler    gekocht, dann ab  gekühlt und durch Zusatz von konzentrierter  Schwefelsäure auf den gewünschten Säure  grad eingestellt. Man erhält so den Gerb  stoff in Form einer schwach bräunlichen Paste.  Er liefert beim Gerben weisse, gut gefüllte,  lichtechte Leder.

PATENTANSPRUCH: Verfahren zur Herstellung eines gerbend wirkenden Stoffes, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man die durch Einwirkung von Alkali sulfit und Formaldehyd auf 4,4' - Dioxydi- phenylsulfon erhältliche Methylensulfonsäure des 4,4'-Dioxydiphenylsulfons,Ammoniak und Formaldehyd in Gegenwart stickstofffreier alkalischer Mittel aufeinander einwirken lässt. Das erhaltene Kondensationsprodukt kann als schwach bräunliche Paste erhalten wer den; es besitzt vorzügliche gerbende Eigen schaften und liefert beim Gerben weisse Le der von guter Fülle und Lichtechtheit.
